Have you tried Anim8or? It's a free open source modeler, with a broad based community support. Gerald Day uses it in making his props, available here in Renderosity, so that might serve as one recommendation. A quick Yahoo search will easily point you towards its download page. Along with the app, there is a free PDFoperators manual included in a seperate zip file. There are also numerous how-to tutorials that you can refer to.
Hope this helps.
Yours truly,

I use AoI to cobble crude toys for Vicki. I haven't explored 90% of the leatures like the node based materials or the renderer but the basics are the easiest I've found. It's a Java application so it runs on just about anything yet it is quite fast enough for most things I've tried. Fine for creating models and it imports/exports .obj format but I'm not sure about whether or not it fiddles with the geometry in a way that might mess up morphs. You'll just have to experiment."Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance." - H. L. Mencken

I have a dozen 3D modelers, some now defunct products, in hopes someday of making my own props. I have been able to make stuff with Boolean operations in TrueSpace, but it's most recent updates have virtually made that operation no longer possible. I have tried Hexagon, and Shade, and the menus are too abstruse for the digitally challenged.
What is the simplest one around? If I could import stuff into an app and do Boolean operations, I would be happy.
