@tom271. It sounds like a free for all to me. Just come up with something fitting the general subject matter. Romance, Action, Childrens story. I am not sure if that is a good thing. Something a bit more specific focuses a person better.
Still, the prizes on offer make the anguish of deciding what to do a little less painful. Actually a LOT less painful.
You got it right folks here is the brief. The judging will be based on artwork, layout and idea. There will be some examples posted in competition gallery today.:
A new publishing house represents three authors who have all just finished their first novels. The publisher is now looking for artwork for the bookcovers.
Emma Quill has just completed her first Romantic Saga, and is very excited about it being published.
Joey Pen has finished an Action Blockbuster, which he hopes will become a movie.
Rosie Ink has finished her first Children's book, her own kids think it is great it and she hopes children will love it worldwide.
For this competition you are the freelance artist who wants the contract to produce the artwork for the covers. You are allowed to submit three images, one for each book type. Romance, Action, Children's.
The image should consist of the cover artwork, a title of your choosing, and the authors name.
The only requirement is for a front cover, not a whole book jacket.
Yea I know that..... Emma Quill, Joey Pen and **Rosie Ink are fictitious people..... There are no books being written..... There is no true publisher.....
This is just the platform the bases to do work and earn a prize.... otherwise how could you make a book cover without knowing in detail the content of the books....
