I did RT*M but this just basically informs that the button is there.

I don't mind discovering things by myself, it can be fun - but a jumpstart on the learning curve would definitely make things easier.

Clicking the “Export Painter Script” will produce a text file (script) for use in Corel Painter.
Note: Painter and Poser were once brother and sister owned by the same company.

In Corel Painter>Window>Show Script…
In the Script window click on the top right triangle then click “open script” and browse to the text file and give it a name.
Now you can play back the sketch and it will redraw the same as it was in Poser but with your choice/selection of Painter’s brushes and variants.

A caveat (for me) is the dimension of the playback sketch is limited to the size of Poser’s preview window.

Well that explains it - Never had understood why this reference to Painter was here.

I had got the basics working already, but thanks anyway.
What I wanted to know was if someone has really worked on this.

I do have some ideas such as:
Rendering the Background, outline and figure in separate scripts, maybe even separating the figures material.....
..but in the lack of shared experience maybe I'll just have to wade on alone. (sniff, sniff)

That is not a problem.
Before running the script in Painter, open up a new file (canvas) with the final dimensions you want for the "render". Keep the proportions of the Poser render to avoid distortion (like what happened here). :blushing:
Select All () and run the script.
I'm not sure how big you can go , but I pumped a render from 840px wide to 3000 and it came out fine (takes a pretty long time though).

I had to cut the image down to fit in the forum - you'll just have to believe me that it was 3000px - honest.

Is a painter script the actual picture,  or a script to do the drawing effect?

Just tried it, and it works like a charm.

That was a problem I asked about on every Painter site I could find several years ago, and all I every got was “resize canvas after the script” or “try to edit the script in notepad”.

For that reason, I never really played with that feature very much.

No the Painter script is not a picture (image); it is just a text file that instructs Painter what and how to draw.

It is drawn the same as it was in Poser, except in Painter you have more chooses of what type of media is used to do the drawing (chalk, oils, watercolor, pastels etc.).

I have Poser and Painter for long time and never note this .i will try it .Thanks
