RDNA has created a very touching remembrance for 911. You might want to check it out...

I was going to say more but tears are in my eyes.

I have not forgotten that day. I woke up and turned the news on went to get a coffee, when I saw it all. I thought well surely this is an odd movie in the morning, not a few moments later I sat on my coffee table watching in complete awe the terror before my eyes. It still didn't seem real but I knew by then it was. I had no phone at the time and was dying to call someone, anyone who could talk to me as I was home alone.

That day, and the long time following, the people who lost their lives, the people who gave of themselves to help. The faces of those watching, who could ever forget such a thing. My heart and prayers go out to all the families who were affected by this tragedy.

Thank you for the link.

I put a mesage in the CC forum here but someone tried to make political points off it if you can believe that!

I asked the Mods to remove my post for that reason, some people just don't know when to shut up!

Yesterday was a time for remembrance and solidarity against extremists and it's a shame when people see it as a day to score points!

As I said yesterday, my thoughts were with the victims and their families!

My nephew , Moshe Levy sent me the attached link above, and said it absolutely blew his mind.  Hopefully it isn't stepping on anybody's toes, or violating any TOS by posting it here.  If it is, then tell me and I'll delete the post.  The link is to an Al Jezeera News interview with an Arab woman who is in outspoken opposition of Islamic extremism.  The views that she expresses are simply amazing, considering her background. I watched it twice, and what she said brought me to tears, finally a voice of reason amongst all this mayhem. DPH

Interesting video David, she speaks a lot of sense, it's a pity nobody will listen. She's just as likely to end up dead as a victim of an assasin for daring to say these things!

The whole world has gone barking mad!

"Has gone barking mad" implies that the world was not barking mad at some previous point. Evidence of this, please?

BTW - Which world religion was it that did NOT go through a "put all unbelievers to the sword" phase? Buddhism, maybe? Sure as heck not the followers of either YHWH or JC.

My first inkling that something was wrong on 9/11 was hearing Howard Stern on WXRK saying something about a plane flying into a building. I was car pooling to work with a friend, though, and he had the radio on very low volume and didn't mention what had happened. By the time we got to the office, the news of the 2nd plane had come in. Work ground to a halt as we all stood around the doorway of the one guy who could get radio reception in our building. We heard them announce that the first tower collapsed. And then the 2nd. Then our bosses sent us home.

I spent the rest of the day with my family - my wife and 6 month old baby girl. Later we walked to my friend's house and watched the video on his TV. (He had cable, and we only had an antenna. When the twin towers fell,  most of the over-the-air TV channels in NY went dead. They were all broadcast from that one transmission tower.)

Miraculously, no one we knew personally was lost. The closest call was a friend of ours who had worried us by deciding to have her baby's birth induced a few days earlier. At the time we wondered if it was a wise choice, but had she not done it, she would likely have been walking out of the debris cloud and across the Brooklyn Bridge, nine months pregnant, instead of home with her husband and new child on that day.

Honestly I don't know enough about either of those sides or points of views. She is talking about class of civilization and in the same breath trashing the muslims.....I don't know anything about the religions, so I can't say anything about her views.

Jimdoria, thank god for small miracles, and a couple of them for your friend on that day!
