Subject: provocative ads of under 18s

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 7:07 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 3:12 AM

no doubt most saw the debacle over certain images being removed from the galleries.

on the basis of that thread in the poser forum i have a question. if an ad image breaks the tos why is it allowed to be shown or do ads and those that place them not come under the same tos that all members have too.

I believe the mods have repeatedly stated that the MP is separate and apart from the galleries and the forums, and that the policies of the MP are therefore different.

The TOS of the galleries does not apply to that of the MP, nor that of the MP to the galleries  with the exception of  "child nudity" which is universal throughout the site.

The "provocative" banner that you are speaking of shows a mouth, tongue and chin. That's not nudity.

Can we take your soap box away now? Please?!  :b_smile:

sorry acadia but i think you'll find the tos is refered to as the rendorosity terms of service and if the marketplace is in the site of rendorosity it does indeed come under rendorosities terms of service. i'm sure admin will correct me if im wrong.  and the tos states caragorically....no provocative images of under 18's

billy

ps. just re read the tos and it is indeed for all members and all users which i presume includes the marketplace and the advertisers. have a look and tell me if you still  think they're not for the mp

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:29 AM

if you think it a soap box to point out that the tos should stand for the whole site then okay i'm on a soap box. in fact i never knew there was two sets of tos.

maybe an admin could answer...are there two sets of to?

Money is why.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 3:13 PM

that tongue shot was underage? I didn't realise that (didn't click on the banner). but it's a poser model, not an actual human, so I don't see that anyone is harmed by it, especially if we're not forced to click on the banner. it might have been a tawdry and unoriginal banner, but it wasn't a TOS violation IMVHO.

If you have a complaint on an ad Billy then you should be contacting privately a team member to review.

A naked underage toung???

My brain is just a toy box filled with weird things

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 5:44 PM

actually i'm posing a question about the tos in the communitiy centre forum stacey.

and its not about a naked tongue though that does sound deliscious lol. it's about one set of tos for members and one set of tos for others.

is are there  two sets of tos regarding child images or any other image for that matter . surely an admin can answer that with a simple yes or no.....i've been asked to get of my soap box by another member cos shes under the impression that two sets of tos do in fact exist.

No there is not a seperate TOS, the  TOS is for the entire site and as I stated if you see something that you feel is a violation then please report that through the proper channels.

And just for the record because of the way you posed your question it seemed you saw an ad you felt was an underage ad so this is why I said if you see something that needs reviewing, please let us know.

Thanks

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 6:04 PM

ive seen many ads that seem to break the tos. they don't actually bother me as such but i'm cunfused when members actually think there are two sets of tos as shown by one member in an earlier post. i wonder why members feel that way.  stacey...i think whats left up and whats pulled regard the child rule needs reviewing......as it covers the whoile of the tos and the community i think here a good place to state it. ......i think  the rule is unevenly enforced throughout the site. either some being to heavy handed or some not being heavy handed enough re the tos so can this rule be reviewed please and the members informed of any outcome if it does get reviewed.

with thanks.

it's good how all the smilies work in unison  isn't it , each one seemingly knowing what and when the other ones are doing something lmao. .......

StaceyG ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 7:24 PM

I can't speak on this Billy because I haven't seen those "ads" you are referring to and unless I can actually see what you feel is a violation I can't address that. We are humans of course so things sometimes slip by but I do definitely think we apply the rules evenly throughout the site as best we can.

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 7:42 PM

i'd have thought ads especially would be scrutinised for tos violations re under 18 imagery and though i would dearly love to show more than a few i've seen i'm not the thought police even if it seemed i came across that way. as it is my request is or was that the tos regarding the matter be reviewed.....as a basis for this we have some mods saying the market place is run differently than the forums. this is what i believe led to some members thinking there are two sets of tos......surely this in itself is enough for a review without me searching out all the under 18 ads that are provocative....all the merchent thumbs that are under 18 and provocative and sorry staecy but the numbers of said tos violations are rife enough without me pointing them out.

Okay I think I have misunderstood what you were speaking of exactly until your last post. The TOS does apply to all members of the site BUT the vendors have their own guidelines for promos, ads, etc. But if you read the TOS  "image/writing" guidelines they are for gallery images. Then of course rules of forum postings, etc this applies to EVERYONE.

I'm not 100% sure on the Marketplace policy on the "provactive" promos or ads and quite frankly as I stated earlier several times, you can't be expected to get a accurate response from the Marketplace staff about the ads and promo images to what you are referring to without giving them an example of exactly what you mean.

Hopefully this helps to clear the confusion, I was under the impression as I didn't read throughly that (sorry) that you saw an ad with underage nudity or transparent clothing, etc. I missed the Provactive part. My apologies

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:16 PM

so what you're saying is the tos doesn't cover vendors or people who place ads. a simple yes or no is okay

No depictions of young humanoid characters/children giving the appearance of being under the age of 18 displayed in erotic, seductive, provocative poses or context. does this apply to everyone who uses the site..again a yes or now will do

the above has no mention of galleries.

the header at the top states the tos applies to all members and users.

though one line amonst the tos mentions some images will be pulled at the admins discretion it no way revokes the above line aimed at all members and users. as this is also; posted under the child guidlines for the whole site  it is for the whole of the site isn't it. a simple (yes or no would suffice at this point also lol)

StaceyG ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:28 PM · edited Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:34 PM

It DOES mention the galleries and writings as its under that section and it refers to the galleries and writings (images = gallery images). See this line under the

Posting Unacceptable Images or Writing Themes:

Refer to the Child Image Guidelines

You can contact the Marketplace staff for their vendor ad policy as I told you above they have a vendor policy.

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:33 PM

now it's my turn to be confused.......as it doesn't say  posting the galleries i took it as to me images on the site in general.....was i wrong and i'm still confused as to whether it applies to venders imgaes or not..if not are you saying they are not covered by the tos....why should i have to contact them of the tos of the site..unless of course you're admitting yourself how ambiguous they are

billy

StaceyG ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:35 PM · edited Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:36 PM

Not ads or promos NO, as I said several times now the VENDORS have their policy on marketing ads and promos

And as I stated I thought you meant ads that had child nudity or transparent clothing ,etc which I know is unacceptable with the vendor policy as well so YES if you see that you should contact them

billy423uk ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2006 at 9:40 PM

well there you go. and you said its not them and us....sorry acadia for thinking you wrong...you were a 100 % right. ther are indeed two sets of tos.

It's just difficult to know the age of a 3d mesh  and now, how the Hell do you measure the age of a tongue!?????

Stupidity also evolves!
