Nah - #1 you are welcome, #2 pointing to the manual is an answer as well. And in this case not the worst.
Don't forget to save the function you will get so that you can use it again and again in the future. Without opening the manual again. That is what i did.
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
I wrote a tutorial on using the open ocean fractal. Hope it helps you.

sit there for like 3 hours thinking how in the hell do i do that then go thu the internet trying to find out
then i come arcoss a website that says "in the manual" and i think
o well i should of read that 1st im always doing one of the most easy things to do and yet no one really does lol
maybe its because they make them like 1000 pages of just words and not enuff images to show you what button is what and how to open files in something else

Did you see the Alias Training Guides before ? With the help of their books I learned Maya faster than I learned Terragen ! :-D
Manuals usually featuring the very basic stuff. i.e. I never used Cinema 4D manual much especially when it comes to Advanced Render part - it is only telling which option do what. I got Exploring Modeling, Artists Project Source Book and C4d 9.1 Handbook. Because there is no tip / technic on manual to improve learn and improve yourself - its just a... manual... :-D. That's made me a bit manual-phobic :-D
I believe teaching is an art too :-)
