Well... I did..but I don't know what this MEANS??

So I just said "does not matter".... oh...wait... you mean the "on line now" that pops up here and there around here?... okay...then I did answer right... thought it had to do with cookies...and being signed in, and the number showing of visitors listed up there... sorry... can't keep track of all the bells and whistles!

I finished the survey and tried to download the freebie and I recieved this error

Then the freebie link disappeared

It means look for major changes in the not so distant future. The last time there was a community survey it resulted in major changes to the MP, which resulted in 90 million threads in the Poser forum.

I just finished the Community Survey for 2006. Thank you for making it available to members.
(1) I would like to see members be able to suggest questions for the next community survey.
(2) I would like to see a place on the front page at Renderosity where a new person could go for a link that would send them to a page where they could be told how to use this site's functions. Similar to a help menu. This would avoid repetitive questions and a place to find answers.This front page should be updated monthly, if necessary.
(3) I would like to see a similar link on the front page that would be staffed by one, specific staff management member who would have the sole responsibilty to act as this site's spokesperson for timely updates and notices to members on problem areas with estimated dates of completion.
(4) I would like to see on the Community Center Forum a single, customer service person who would act similar to a personnel director or public relations director in being the one individual who would reply to thread postings. If they did not know answers to certain questions initially, they would seek the appropriate help from others in the field in question and then respond. I think you need one point person. I also think this person should not respond to questions with remarks like, "I don't know" or "I think". Find out the answer and then respond to a member's question.
(5) I would like to see an online meeting place where selected staff members and selected artistic members could meet and talk about this site and how it could be made better. This would greatly aid both parties and eliminate many future pitfalls that always seem to be addressed after the fact. Planning is a time saver and it makes for a much more enjoyable membership and staff.
(6) If only one person is complaining about an issue, that is one thing. However, if many are complaining about the same issue(s), make the members feel like you actually hear them. Don't respond directly or indirectly that you don't believe the comments of the many.
(7) Hire or make one person in management the sole, responsible person for the site. Make that person publicly know to all the members. In effect, the members would know "the buck stops" with that one person. In every army, there is one general in charge the troops know is in charge in times of conflict, etc.
(8) Instead of repetitive forums, consider the idea that the member and the staff person could go to a 'chat room' area at this site if the ongoing problem(s) doesn't seem to be addressed in a fairly quick manner. Maybe both parties would feel much freer in speaking openly in a more private setting and the problem could be resolved easier?
(8) In business, most consider the axiom, "The customer is usually right". Follow that axiom when at all possible.
Thank you for this survey form. I hope the findings and results will be openly published for all to see and discuss and then be acted upon.

I did complete the above survey and submitted it 'privately' as instructed. In addition, I felt like posting my replies in 'public'. I could think of a no more appropriate place then the 'Community Center" forum.
I hope that it was 'ok' for me, or any member, to so state their thoughts and views on a 'Community Center' forum provided for such fare. I was under the impression that this is a place where 'all' members can 'share' their views and thoughts?
I wanted members to see my responses to the survey. To me, it would be great to see the 'full' responses of other members here. As the survey is now conducted, we may see the end results in 'numbers', etc. I would like to see more of member's specific ideas/suggestions as they were originally given. Just my preferences.
If this thread is not the appropriate place to do so, I will start a 'new' thread post/topic here in the community center forum and 'paste' the above.
My apologies, if I am incorrect in my thinking processes (''a mind IS a terrible thing to waste". WINK).

I'm highly interested in the results of the community survey. Not only in the numerics, but even more so in the suggestions put forth by the members. And I would also love to hear what actions will be taken as a result of the survey.
Brian said it much better than I could have done, English not being my first language. Many of the changes he suggests would improve the clarity of the site's modus operandi, which would be a good thing.
Truth be told, I have seen a marked improvement in clarity over the last couple of weeks. If a bug is reported, a staff member (usually Stacey - way to go!) reports back that the programmers have been notified and that they're working on a solution. This is GOOD. So is the poll about the site speed.
I've been harsh at times, especially when I encounter sloppy programming. That is not what I expect from commercial grade software.(As an aside, did you ever click View Source on a Renderosity page? Do the same on a phpBB site and compare. The differences are remarkable - and then consider commercial credibility....)
Slowly we're getting there. There's still a long way to go, but we're making progress. Keep up the good work!
