Hi everyone, we are happy to announce our new store opening tomorrow at www.PoserMerchant.com. Rather than open a store at ComicTools.com, one at PoserMerchant.com, Posertrax, etc., we decided to open a single store at the PoserMerchant site so we could offer multiple product lines with less maintenance. We are and will continue to broker here at Renderosity.

The sites and product lines that will be available include:

  • All Silverwing3d products (past and present including backgrounds and textures)
  • All of silver's non-exclusive Renderosity products
  • silver's ComicTools line of products
  • PoserMerchant marketing products, ebooks, and courses
  • An all-new Posertrax product line coming in December
  • our new texXturesโ„ข series of Merchant Resource textures, with texXturesโ„ข paks at just $1.99!

The site now has SSL and ordering will be secure. If you were wondering what happened to the PoserMerchant Member Area on the blog, it will be available next week, but on the PoserMerchant.com site - I've got an announcement forthcoming on the blog regarding the snafu that we hit there on the 15th when it was originally slated to open... :)

We've also been working on rebranding many of our products and incorporating the 3d/Poser products into the Silverwing3d line, so you will see changes in the product promos, etc over the next few months. We are also updating all of our older/discontinued products for re-release this year (all previous purchasers will be able to access the updates).

In addition, we've got a nice selection of new products that will be introduced into the store and here at RMP over the next few months - lots of stuff including more ComicTools products, Poser Props, and Marketing for Merchants Volume II. We are putting the finishing touches on most of these now.

Here are some images of just a few of our new products:

Look for our store to be available sometime tomorrow (EST/USA). You can reach it via the PoserMerchant web site, or from ComicTools.com. Just click on the "Store" links. Make sure to stop by and visit us!

Thanks for reading,

Mmm...you need to work on the site. I added some things to my cart and it said that you didn't have them in stock???

MaterialForge ( ) posted Fri, 22 September 2006 at 7:12 PM

Thanks zulu, I will check that out. You might be referring to the upcoming products. If so, I'll work on that module. Which products were you trying to add so I can take a look?

Thanks,

I was trying to buy Scifi City Backgrounds Volume 1 & Volume 2, as well as texXturesโ„ข Volume 1: bio lab 1

Hi zulu, I have fixed the problem with the product stock for texXtures and SFC1. Here's what happened.

The store software has a feature called "product stock" which, when enabled, shows the product as out of stock if less than a certain number showed in its inventory listing. It looks like this is a default setting on osCommerce, with 0 products in stock being a default.

I have now corrected these settings on all products. (FYI, you still would have been able to purchase and download the texXtures product even with the error message).

the Scifi City Backgrounds 2 product will be available later today. For some reason osCommerce is showing #2 in the store as a full product despite a future release date of 9/24 being set.

Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention; the stock issue did not show up in my initial tests of the purchase process. I'm trying to find out why that is, and also since we had other orders this week. So I will be looking into that as well.

I am very sorry for the error and am also going through the store today doing a more granular check on everything; please let me know if you have any suggestions or feedback (good or bad), or need further assistance. I am in my studio today and working on the site, so I will be available if you need anything.

Thanks!

Ok, found another problem. I'm in Scotland, and the checkout process wants to charge me $5 shipping fee. I noticed that you're using the same site layout (same software) as Sixus1. I had the same problem with their site.

MaterialForge ( ) posted Sat, 23 September 2006 at 10:27 AM

Hmm, shipping was specifically disabled. Checking right now...

MaterialForge ( ) posted Sat, 23 September 2006 at 10:53 AM

Ok, I have completely uninstalled all shipping modules so you should not see that. The option was showing turned off, so I'm not sure why it tried to charge you. But I removed all shipping modules.

I've also PM'd you with a download link; no checkout process should be this much trouble, so I'm giving you some product and picked up an item on your Renderosity Wishlist for the hassle. :)

ooh, thank you very much!

MaterialForge ( ) posted Sat, 23 September 2006 at 11:29 AM

You are quite welcome. It's the least I can do. :) Let me know ASAP if you're having any more trouble with the store, and also let me know if it goes smoothly?

Thanks again!

Ok, I placed an order and there was no shipping charge - great stuff. I noticed that the 'Your Order Has Been Processed!' screen says that my products will arrive in 2-5 days: it's nothing major, but you'll probably want to get rid of that message. Additionally, I ordered 4 products, but there were only links for 3 of them - I'm assuming that I'll be able to download the 4th later on from 'My Account' page? Anyway, apart from those minor hiccups, everything seems to be working fine now. Good luck with the store!

MaterialForge ( ) posted Sat, 23 September 2006 at 11:43 AM

I just saw it come through. I am uploading that 4th product for you right now. I just checked and everything appears to have processed just fine. I'll take care of the message on that page as well. :)

I will email you as soon as the download for your 4th product is ready. All the products are available in the My Account area for a standard setting of 30 days and 3 downloads. That doesn't mean you can only get to it within that time - if after the 30 days you need a download reset I will take care of it, simply email to let me know.

Thanks so much for your patience with this. I appreciate you hanging in there and letting me know there was a problem; a lot of customers would just click away, and in fact I'm sure some did. So thank you.
