Subject: Why is it so complicated to communicated to each other in the new Renderosity?

Georges_H_Hoens ( ) posted Fri, 22 September 2006 at 4:08 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 2:25 AM

I definitivly like the new make up of Rendy...

But it is definitivly more complicate to communicate to each other.

The fact is, before when someone did comment on a picture, we had the ability to answere dirrectly by clicking the answere to go directly to the mail (IM) box of that member.

Now we have to go to the homepage (which takes time) scroll until the end of the homepage and then write a lettre.

In a time of fast communication this is a miss.

Yeah, I found that problem too. i enjoyed just clicking and 'talking' to someone from across the miles. I cannot fathom this new system. I keep getting turned around. The joys of progress I suppose.

Oh well..I guess we will have to make do. Jenny

Ummm, I just thought after I posted...have you tried the site mail at all?

I mentioned that when I took the community survey. Perhaps if more of you take it and say something...things will change. ;o] My suggestion is to be able to click on a person's avatar to get you directly to an IM page for them.

I must agree with you.....but after some weeks I know how it works now...what I miss is the option if somebody pick up your IM....now it is only guessing if that person has read your IM or not. Maybe it is possible to have that back in the future.....and on the top "site mail" there you will find all the IN and OUT stuff...included your archive....

hopefully they can do something on it so that we see if somebody has pick up our IM

Just FYI, vlaaitje

You can still see when someone reads an IM you sent them. Just go to your Sent mail (in the drop down menu in site mail) and when they read your mail it will have the date/time that it was picked and read.

Thanks

...and the answer to why it has to be so complicated was what???

I'm still confused.

I don't find it all that complicated, I copy the person's name, go to th top of the page and click site mail, when there it opens with compose message, I paste in the user's name and write my message and click Send Message, and go on with my other concerns...quite simple really, maybe 1 more operation, but hey, I got that much time, heh heh heh

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

Things will come together in a less "complicated" way when all the pieces have been brought over and the programmers have the time freed up to concentrate on these issues. We'll get there guys, just hang tight. In the meantime, I do just what Bobby suggested above and its a good work around for the moment.

Thanks

Your answer is quite condescending and patronizing, it was a simple question that required only a simple answer. Why is it this way?

At least Stacey addressed the question with a reasonable explanation, so it seems this will be looked at, we all know that copy and pasting isn’t 100% reliable, if you miss a letter in the c&p then the message will I guess end up in the great lost mail void in cyberspace. Thats no use to anyone.

It was a good question.

Simon,

Bobby was answering that he didn't find it complicated, thats not condescending at all. He was just saying HE personally had a way to do it that was fairly simple and sharing how he did it.

Not sure at all how you could find his words condescending? I re read them about 10 times and didn't get that at all.  I think you must have just taken it wrong. Sometimes the typed words can come across that but I am certain his intention wasn't that.

Ok...The admins know about this...Stacey gave us a clear answer..

I'm sure I've brought this up enough times in our Mod forum to drive the Admin team nuts...

:-)

This has been buggin me since the change over..
probably the quickest way to change this would be:

Simply change it so when you click on a members name it takes you to their home page..That's where the e-mail and site mail boxes are..

OR

make it like it used to be and move both the mail boxes to the page you now get when you click on a members name..

That's just my two cents on this matter..

Thanks for bringing this up Georges. Every click saved, saves a lot of time especially on slower links like the ones I have to work thorugh most of the times.
