There was a post regarding INJ morphs.  I replied that DAZ had a membership you could join and recieve a discount on their originals.

Having said that, I know a lot of sites' popularity is on word of moth and quality of the products.

BUT...

What would people think if Renderosity offered some sort of membership, say $20/month. In that membership you got a discount on, lets say "Vendor of the month" or even a "gift certificate" every month to be used on anything in the store

Just a passing thought...

they already said they weren't gonna do that. mostly the part about sales, where some unlucky merchant suddenly finds his/her item on sale (devalued) to $1.99, for the benefit of club members, whose club fees go to the site, and not to the merchant.

Hmmm...nope, I think I'll pass on that thought.

I'd pass. Like Miss Nancy says the merchant risks losing a lot of wonga. Or does the store paying that merchant the full cut.  As a customer I'd get annoyed if I paid for a few months and there was nothing worth buying.

Paying a subscription fee and getting access to a lot of stuff, like the excellent Poserworld, can work though.

I've renewed my Poserworld subs each year, becuase it's so much better value than the daz platnuim club. Once you pay up, you don't pay again until you renew. Try it.
