Subject: Mat Pose Edit

Hi, does anyone know anything about the Mat Pose Edit program? I am having a really hard time with it and most of the tutorials on the homepage for it, the links dont work!

#1. When I test out my results, my items are showing up as a different color.

#2. I cannot figure out how to make my mat appear as a thumbnail picture in poser.

#3. Need help setting up product in .zip format so that when extracted it installs correctly !

#4. When all is said and done, need someone to help test out my product so that I know it works for someone other than myself.

If there are any tuts out there I am not aware of, I would appreciate it. Been fiddling with this for 2 weeks! lol

Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?

  1. Not sure what you mean with this? Are you attaching an image texture? Some more info needed...
  2. MPE won't help with this. You need to render an image of the item and then make a thumbnail out of it yourself.
  3. Easiest thing to do is make a duplicate runtime structure on your desktop and place your files in there, in their correct folders, and zip from there.
  4. You can post for beta-testers in this forum, you'll need to mention what products they need to test (e.g. is it a texture for V3? a clothing set? etc) and if this is a for-sale item, please don't let the post turn into an advert, okay?

Karen :-)

Yes, its a texture....everything seems to work fine except its turning a red color.

Its a texture for Catgirl. everything applies right, just not the right colors.

I know I have to make the thumbnail, I just dont know how to make it appear as a thumbnail in poser.

'and if this is a for-sale item, please don't let the post turn into an advert, okay?'

Not sure what you mean by that.

Thanks!

I can't help with Mat Pose Edit because I haven't ever managed to get anything to work that I tried to use it on. However I can answer one of your questions.

To make a thumbnail, you need to render an image of the item inside Poser.  Set your dimensions to 91x91, render, then save the file as a .png image to the folder that contains the .cr2 or pp2 or pz2 files.  Name the .png file the same as the corresponding .cr2 or pp2 or pz2 file.   You can look inside any of your runtime folders to see how this is done.

Here is a very simple mat pose, made for LLF Drake. See if yours is similar.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Are you perchance using P6? If so, after applying the pose you may have to go into the material room and look for oddities.

I use MPE and P6 and AFAIK have had no problems.  Don't know why the texture should be red other than diffuse/ambient colours being set wrongly.  Maybe you could be better downloading MPE again in case your copy is corrupt for some reason.

MAT Poses I was doing with MPE recently all came out red.  I had started by loading another MAT pose file rather than a character file.  I couldn't get the red to go away.

Finally I started over with the character file and it worked fine.  If you are loading from a pose it might be worth trying a character as the starting point.

BTW, I'd be happy to test for you if I have the required products.
