I've noticed several of the freebies now come attatched with freeware shares and spyware sites that you have to sign up for or join... NO THANK YOU!!!.. and if its going to be allowed then I wont download from the freebies anymore, I dont like spyware and refuse to get anything that I has an obligation to do so.. thank you Renderosity its been a wonderful relationship but I dont think I'll be visiting much anymore, I've fought the ones that want me to have spyware and give me virus's long enough and I dont need those kinds of things on my computer. Mores the pity too I loved Renderosity because they din't have things like that in their freebies.  its with great saddness that I go. Again, thank you for wonderful times and beautiful things.

Spyware? Haven't noticed anything of that ilk, and we do check all freebies before approving.

Can you site mail the moderator of the appropriate section with the name of the item in question please, and what happened when you went to the site?

http://rapidshare.de/files/34228024/Textures_2_by_FairyRealm.zip.html  thats the link I get when I tried to download textures by fairy realm and textures 2 by fairy realm and there are quite a few others I thought I'd say something because about 10 on my friends were complaining and wouldnt say anything they just dont come into the freebies anymore and that, to me is a shames.

It can be quite difficult to find the way to download for free on these file hosting services.

In this instance, you need to scroll down and click on the "Free" button.

Others are more troublesome for the unwary as they employ a whole bunch of psycological tricks to get you to click on things other than the download link.

I tested and approved both of those freestuff items, and I can assure you there is no spyware/adware or viruses..Rapidshare is a free file hosting site....and not all members upload from their computer..they choose to use free hosting sites instead.

When downloading from Rapidshare, you have a choice to have unlimited downloads for a monthly fee, or you can have limited downloads {usually no more than 1 per hour} for free....you do not have to join or sign up for a download...however you cannot get a file from there unless someone specifically gives a link to you, or makes it public.

Is there something in particular you have found, or are you just talking about the site link?

I know my hosts file blocks rapidshare.de but it is not because of the downloads but I guess the ads who something else. I have gotton many downloads from there and that site is a pain to have to click around, wait and then type a code in.

Please remember that many members do not have access to hosting via an ISP and are limited to these free sites, unless someone is nice enough to give them some server space. There is no product purchase price to offset the cost of hosting, after all.

We don't allow the use of sites which include spyware/malware/warez/porn links, so if you spot any of those, please let us know.

Thank you truly Karen and others, this is so true of many of us sadly.  Until that time comes when I am able to host my freebies from my site.  I will have to use free download sites.  And the only thing you have to disable is your download program if you have one and let windows download it and than it will work.  Thank you all for understanding and supporting those of us whom don't have file hosting sites or anywhere else to place our files.  It's either use a free file hosting site or don't upload any more freebies.  Me I would rather have the freebies.  There is no loopholes, you don't have to sign up to get the file, nor virus's nor do I see any spyware come up.  I wish there was another option if someone does know of one I am all ears :O).  And I am sorry that you've had difficulties Dana. 

It all jelled after I pulled my head out... and with my friends informed we have all downloaded the things we hold so dear on here and by the way we love those textures.
