I know some of you might groan about my question, but you guys are my last hope ;o) I desperately try to apply the transparency map to anton's poseable ponytail which I imported into Bryce. But none of the results is really satisfying. What do I have to do if I want to use a transparency and a regular map? I searched the web quite a while, but none of the tuts did really helped me out :((( Please help!!!

In the Materials Lab, select the small arrow at the top of the screen to open the Shading Mode menu, Select Blend Transperancy. In the OPTICS section of the Material Lab, check the 2nd dot next to transperancy and set the component to picture(Click the "P"), import your transmaps into the Picture Editor, load your map into the first box, then click copy, goto the 2nd window(where bump maps go) and click paste, click ok to delete current selection. Click the Exit checkmark and return to the Materials Lab. This process will have to be repeated for each body part the tansperancy map is applied to.

had the same problem yesterday with the total hair.the way Ken wrote is the normal way and its working good.but seems to be not on all hair.my way : in the pictureeditor:load your hair in the first box, load your transmap in the second box , do not select "blend transparency" . in the matlab select the first button " diffuse color" and the button for transparence at the bottom and play a little bit with the transparence slider. posted a pic with that hair in the posergallerie yesterday title "???"

thats what I got out with the DAZ updo-hair.think its similar to antons hair.so first in the second box load the transmap( in the first is the colormap. in the matlab aktivate the first button from top"diffusion" down where the sliders are, press diffusion and abiance, and set both to 100, way down press transparence let it at 0. deaktivate "cast shadow".thats the way i have done it. soory my english is not well
