Subject: HELP - Daz (Zygote) Marlin Texture Needed!

rdhceo ( ) posted Fri, 29 September 2006 at 1:36 AM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 6:43 PM

Hello,
I had archived a copy of the Zygote Marlin some time ago (the title should tell you something about the age) - and just re-located it recently.  However, after unzipping the old file -  I cannot find the actual bump and or texture files that were originally included with this figure.  I do not recall if the original file was an installer application or had to be installed by hand.  I have had this item for some time - and prefer not to purchase another one.  I find that DAZ now offers this model - and do not know if Zygote even works with these type of figures anymore.  If anyone has just the striped marlin texture that they could email me I would greatly appreciate it.    For your consideration - I sincerely thank you.
P.S.Neglected to mention, I have the complete yellowfin tuna, lionfish, octopus and seahorse if anyone is interested in a trade in the marine realm!?!?!?

Daz doesn't allow distributing the texture under any circumstances.

Originally the texture and the model were sold seperately, so you might have gotten it originally with no texture, but now the model and texture are sold as a single product.

Your only hope for recovering the lost texture is to either find your copy, or buy a new one.

Check your itemised order history at DAZ - if you bought the Marlin from Zygote (and it seems unlikely it would have been a weekly freebie) the record should have been transferred when DAZ separated from Zygote. If it's there you should be able to reset the download. Failing that try contacting DAZ - give the rought date of your purchase and the email address you used at Zygote and they may be able to find the order on the old system (use the Contact Form and select sales as the destination).

You can, however, legally download the texture map for free, then paint one of your own. The color scheme doesn't look too complicated, I'm sure that it wouldn't take too long to paint something pretty good. If you're not up to the task yourself, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there isn't someone around here who would be delighted to take up the challenge as a favor, one artist to another. Be sure to scale the map up in size, before painting, to get the detail right, then scale it back down to a reasonable size before saving, based on how detailed an image you want to create with it.

Just wanted to say thanks and aye aye to the captain for helping me find the  texture map for this texture... and as for the rest of you ninnies - oh well.  I had a similar post to this one on the DAZ forum, and I think it was deleted.  For crying out loud - you'd think I was robbing Fort Knox or something.  Funny thing is - in all of my other hobbies - people trade commodities and help each other out in a mutually beneficial manner in many ways - some of you guys need to wake up and smell the visene.

No wonder I don't browse this sight too often any more - go outside, get away from your terminal, you have acquired a type of cathode ray central nervous system contamination...

Sorry, but in this hobby, trading commodities is warezing, and is illegal. And it can result in your getting banned from the forums, which may happen soon after this thread gets locked. 8-)
