Subject: A few questions about Vue 6

BUSHY8996 ( ) posted Tue, 26 September 2006 at 1:00 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 11:25 AM

1)I don't think Windows xp 64bit is out yet - threfore will Vue 6I take advantage of the increaseed memory of say 4 Gig - providing your using a Due 64bit CPU? orwill Windows jump in and not allow it?

2)I am due a fee upgrade to Vue 6 due to a prev upgrade to Vue 5 from Vue4 - If I was to purchase the extra modules for Vue 5 - will I still be able to install and use with Vue 6?

  1. Finally - with Vue 4 on one of the upgrades it also upgraded me to mover5 as I alreadyhad Mover 4 - however does this mean that I will need to install vue 4,5 and then 6 to ensure the extra upgrades are installed within Vue 6?

Thanks for taking the time to look at this and any advise would be helpfull.

1- Xp 64 bits is out and works fine, and Vue should be able to run more than 2 gigs of memory under this OS, otherwise there wouldn't be a point in releasing a 64bit version.

2- If you get the xtra modules for 5, you get 5ProStudio, so my guess is you'll be able to upgrade from 5PS to 6PS.

3- getting too complicated for my single braincell, sorry!

#2 - the free upgrade is only for the same version of vue 6. If you just bought vue 5, you will receive vue 6 for free. If you got vue 5 and added modules, you should get vue 6 pro studio free. If you bought vue 5 infinite, you will get vue 6 infinite for free.

#3 - As far as I know, Mover is included in Vue 6 Infinite. I don't know about the other versions.

Mover is also in Vue6 Esprit and Pro studio. What they apparently did was peel the network rendering system off Mover 4/5, and redub it the Hypervue Module (at least according to the ad copy).

This is kind of off topic here but, can I upgrade or sidegrade to Vue5 infinite and still get Vue6 free?

Is that true - if Ibuy the Vue 5 modules I will in return get a fee upgrade to Vue 6 Pro??

Might be an offer I cannot afford to refuse!

Thanks for all your advise.

No, I don't believe that's quite accurate, BUSHY8996. I'm pretty sure you need to buy the application (Vue 5 Esprit) and the modules within the special offer timeframe.  Or the entire Vue 5 Pro Studio. Not just the add on modules. But it's best to ask the folks at e-on sales; maybe you could phone them and ask.

I can't seem to access the e-on site so I guess I'll ask here. Does anyone know how long this offer (free Vue6)  is going to last?

bruno021 ( ) posted Wed, 27 September 2006 at 5:25 PM

Until further notice, as stated in their latest newsletter. Since V6 is postponed, they extended the offer, but who knows when it'll stop.

I took advantage of that offer last month, I upgraded from V5 to V5 Infinite. I'm now looking forward to V6 Infinite whilst I'm feeling my way around Version 5! :)
