Subject: Introduction

Hopefully this is the right forum for an introduction...

I got into 3D when I saw the TV movie (along with the silver screen version) of Titanic. After seeing these movies, I went to a local computer store that specialized in 3D gear and picked up Newtek's magazine and learned how these movies were made.

At this point, I wanted a broadcast quality 3D progam (yeah at 25 I had THAT type of disposable income).

Fast forward to 2000, I got a copy of Maya PLE (personal learning edition), and I was hooked, I wanted a 3D program that wasn't prohibitively expensive, yet not cheesy. However, I didn't have a lot of income, so I tried DAZ Studio.

I have to tell you, DAZ is a good FREE learning tool, it gets your mind thinking 3D (as well as play with lights, cameras, poses, etc). and it helped ease the learning curve for Poser 5.

I will have spurts when I post, so don't be surprised...

BUT, above al, I want to seek others advice, as I know I have a lot to learn about Poser 5

Seek away, we're all pretty friendly. And, very few of us bite.

Welcome to hours and hours of fun, frustration and more fun. Poser is a powerful program and takes a little lol time to learn.

The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Welcome, and ask away!

I've got a first tip for you: Dr. Geep. THE Poser tutorial master. Search for "geep" in the Poser forums and you'll find tons and tons of easy to understand tutorials - and they're funny too.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
