Okay,

I got Photoshop CS2 the other day, and while I know how to use the brushes for a single color, how do I use the brushes for multiple colors, such as a tattoo, or scars, bruises, etc.?

I know I have to add another layer, but beyond that, I am sort of lost, any help would be appreciated.

press F5 on keyboard to open brushes palette or go to Window - Brushes. There you`ll find brushes dinamycs options. Play with the settings and see what do what for start :)
