Maybe some of you are familiar with it, but its the first of its kind I have ever seen! The thing must be 4 or 5 feet square! Would LOVE to have this, especially for Photoshop.

The tablet of my dreams....

Not that I could ever afford it lol, but it sure looks way beyond cool, AS.

I keep thinking where would I put it - My computer room looks like a cyber-beast grave yard now. People keep giving me their old computers and like the tool-using fool that I am I keep either repairng them or tearng them apart  for spare parts . . .

I was thinking about this with my 18x12 wacom.  All I need is a projector to project onto the tablet and align it so that the cursor matches the image.  In my case the projector is much more expensive than the tablet.  I wonder if it would end up being cheaper than a Cintiq though.  I'd still need to build a frame and such so that the tablet and projector won't move out of alignment.  The above link would also have a bit of problem if someone bumped the tablet.

Ya know I waz thinkin' - if you mounted it on a cieling facing down and you could lay down somehow to use it you might not even notice the lack of space - but then the blood would rush out of your arms when you used it and you'd get muscle fatigue over time ... also transporting it might pose a problem. Still - I wouldn't kick it outa bed for eating crackers!

What would be cool is to have something like this setup where there's a video camera in line with the projector and you could use the whole floor as your canvas... Then you could get dynamic and crazy like a virtual-space Jackson Pollock or something. lol!

This can't be too hard to set up, since it would seem that big name studios actually buy such rigs. I have a feeling that having the tablet perfectly bolted in line with the projector might not be necessary. If they're smart, there will be something in the software that will shift the projected image into alignment with the stylus to compensate for any errors in physical setup.

Now if only I would actually win the lotto...

There are rigs like that demostrated at Siggraph. They are not for Photoshop painting, but so far they are more for entertainment. The really big ones make "paint splashes" based upon your body movement. I've seen smaller ones that react to hand gestures, or movements of a stylus.
