HI there, im abit new to all of this but did use poser4 way back in the day. Well i just got Poser6 and wanted to know what Models i should get to work with. Which are the best ones to get. I remember using vicky back then, but wanted to know what are the best ones.

the best ones are this my friend...FREE!

go to daz's site and you can download the base models of m3, v3, aiko and others...all for free.

as to which are the best is a matter of opinion, really. personally, i think jessi has a killer body. m3 looks more natural though you do have to deal with his "play-dough" texture. aiko is manga....and the best thing is they're for free!

Best for what? You'll get lots of argument on that. Depends mostly (in no particular order) on your computer power, your budget, and what kinds of things you intend to do with it. A key datum is that some figures are more supported than others, in terms of clothing, character morphs, textures. Depending on how clever you are, however, much can be converted from one figure to another. The figure of the day is Victoria3 from DAZ. The base package is free. Lots of free textures, hair, and clothing. Free scenery. If what you want to do is (typical?) figure-posing-in-a-temple pics, you can pretty much get there with free stuff. Well. To head off the inevitable "Jessi has a nicer face/Apollo's joints are better/V4 is coming soon/everyone is using Aiko3 now" rants, let me ask, quickly; What is it you want to do with Poser? The more specific your intent, the more informative people can be towards helping you achieve it.

and i think nomuse hit the nail on the head there. what do you want to do? you undoubtably will be using several programs "alongside-with" poser...at least i do.

mmmmmm, me like some jessi. lol!

I have seen some great work using Teri Yuki (?) .

You will find the most stuff for V3 and M3 although Hiro and a few others seem to be being pushed by Daz lately.

As others have said , what you want to do makes a lot of difference.

I hate to say I'm a Vic and Mike fan, so far I can make anyone I want to out of them. I know all my morphs are not free. But what the heck I make money...

As long as you have a CD burner, just go through Freebies here, the FreePository  and Free Stuff at Daz3d  (join up, at least on the free side), Runtime DNA, and hundreds of other sites. Experiment, make mistakes, laugh about it, and just see what appeals to you. Everyone develops their own style and preferences. We'll be here when you're ready for more.

Your right about the Freebies, first I see if I'm allowed to use them, then I guess I download about a CD disk full a month. Plus I get some of my mods from DAZ Plat for 1.99. I try to cut corner every way I can to keep cost a little down.
