I've been looking at the commercial character packs for M2, and the sample renders provided by merchants. 

I have to admit, there's something in the way of a gritty gutsy manliness about that figure.  I think he appeals differently compared to the prissy prettiness of the DAZ M3 males and the oh, I-don't-know-what-yet of EF G2 Males, just to make a comparison with the blokes I've let into my 3D VR house.  Not that these other figures can't go the craggy tough-guy route, but there is a different inspiration at work.

Casting the technical and economic aspects aside, and just going on the "gets my creative juices flowing" angle, I'd sure like to hear what other people feel about why their favourite male Poser figure appeals to their creative sense.

I don't know about the technicalities.  But I use M3 because he was the popular male figure when I first bought Poser 5.  I have tried using M2 since then, but have found that there are many more free textures and clothing items for M3 than there is for M2.  Same reasons I use V3 and Aiko.  Although I didn't much care for Aiko when I first got her and didn't really come to appreciate the figure until last year because I really didn't like the "anime look" (I'm not big on anime), but now there are more realistic textures/morphs for her and now  she's my favourite female figure to work with, with V3 falling second.

I favour David. His joints are superior to M3 and I find his features more attractive. I don't like M3's jaw. I've never liked M2 as it was always so difficult to make him look individual. There are a few packs out there which have some good individual morphs, but in general, every time I look at him, all I see is Hairy Man-Boobz (long time forum regulars will remember that, I'm sure...)

David's my favorite, too.  He poses so nicely.  He's more generic, and easier to morph than M3.  I like his default shape - young and boyish - but he also bulks up and ages up better than M3.  His muscle morphs are much better looking.

Here's another render I made of him.  The man next to him is my remapped version of the casual man, also using Claudio's texture on his skin portions.  So essentially, both figures are the same, but the Texan's face has been slightly morphed to be more 'meatier,' while the Rabbi's was slightly morphed to be a bit leaner, more ascetic looking. Dork Still Lives!

I like m2 and david but m2 i can have him in soo many roasting positions look's much better than m3.

My favourite boy is Hiro - probably because I don't have David at all, and no M3 morphs, so nothing to compare to (and Koji 1 bends soooo ugly). He's quite versatile figure, from anime/toonish to quite realistic. I don't care much about realistic humans, but I must admit he makes very very hot guys drool And has nice muscles too ;) The only pain is lack of genitals. Poor neutered guy :(
