Issues with Virtual Fashion Registration.

These are the usual mistakes people make when registering Virtual Fashion:

  1. Entering the purchase number instead of getting the proper registration number (see FAQ at http://www.e-frontier.com/go/virtualfashion/faq)
  2. Registration is case sensitive. Users maybe entering wrong case (also in FAQ)
  3. Users may download first the demo version from reyes.com and then try to activate that software with a registration code purchased from e frontier. Demos downloaded from reyes.com will NOT work with Poser and will not respond to activation codes from e frontier.1. Users absolutely need to have their machine connected to the Internet at the time of installation (or when reinstalling). Installation  process involves the software validating code by checking on the Reyes site.
  4. The software later also checks randomly with the Reyes site. If the computer is connected to the Internet, this will result in a message asking for connection. This message can be ignored and the software will still continue to work. (However, the message cannot be ignored indefinitely. If the user ignores the message more than 4-5 times, this will effect the operation of the software).
  5. Internet connection:

Laslo,

What exactly is meant by your last statement that if, "...the user ignores the message more than 4-5 times, this will effect the operation of the software)."

What specifically will happen?

I am not in the habit of keeping the computer I use for anything critical connected to the internet. The potential risks are far too great. I briefly acceded to the requirement of a connection in order to validate my installation, but have no intention of ever doing so again short of a hard drive malfunction necessitating a complete reinstallation.

This question of the connection was asked numerous times when VFB was first released and the information given at that time was that the validation connection was the only one ever required. Now you are giving a totally different response, so I ask again, what specifically will happen after 4 or 5 of these messages?
