As requested, here is an animation of an animated Poser character that my upcoming software converted and exported to Bryce 4.1 This time, we have camera motion, moving clouds and a few mountains in the background. Nothing fancy, it is only meant to demonstrate how the Poser character is fully integrated in the Bryce environment. If you are not on the contact list already for the software release, email me at konan@spacemoose.com with the subject "Poser2Bryce". Konan

very, very cool Konan Ken

seedpress ( ) posted Wed, 25 April 2001 at 1:56 AM

Well, thanks, Konan. You said nothing fancy: but I think its very neat! I can see some amazing possibilities. This will definitly revolutionize the Bryce/Poser world. Anxiously awaiting "its" release. What's the program's name going to be? Or have you decided yet?

Sorry Black Rain, I have just moved all of the Poser2Bryce emails into another folder for the contact list. Ask any question here and I will answer it promptly. Konan

Nicely done! 2 questions tho' 1. Will the software work with poser 3 and bryce 3d? 2. Cost? Ash

Black Rain ( ) posted Wed, 25 April 2001 at 11:20 AM

::wipes drool off his chin:: watch out for chanting, gibbering fan club types. Seriously. Do you mind if I post a link to the movie on another forum site to plug your upcoming software?

konan ( ) posted Thu, 26 April 2001 at 9:02 AM

Go for it Flicker. Konan p.s. What other site?

konan ( ) posted Thu, 26 April 2001 at 9:04 AM

Seedpress, I haven't completely decided on a name for the software, but I am considering using "Natural Pose". What do you all think? Any better suggestions?

adh3d ( ) posted Thu, 26 April 2001 at 2:20 PM

Yes, i think is a good name. But i think it will be better: Innuendo Natural Pose. so, the name of your company will be more known.

What sort of object is the Poser animation in Bryce? Can you move it, or does it need to stay in same spot?

konan ( ) posted Sat, 28 April 2001 at 1:03 PM

Yep, the object can me moved and scaled. Generally, it is best to completely plan you scene in Poser, and only export it to Bryce when it it time to render. Konan

snazzy ( ) posted Sat, 28 April 2001 at 1:38 PM

Sounds and looks great Konan. Impressive work. 3d studio, besides being expensive, has to be the most complex looking interface I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot!). Hoping to avoid that until something intuitive came along. I know Bryce isn't going to do high end, but this ought to make it robust enough to make little movies and get my feet wet.

timoteo1 ( ) posted Fri, 04 May 2001 at 12:14 AM

Here's one for you ... Can you bring more than one Poser animation into a single Bryce scene? For example, when you're doing complex Poser (i.e. memory hog) scenes, you often need to animate characters/object seperately and then comp them togther in an post-production package. Also, I too want to know ... WHEN?? ;-) -Tim

konan ( ) posted Fri, 04 May 2001 at 8:28 AM

Hey Tim, To tackle the memory issue, the software will allow you to export a low resoluton version of the animation so you can set up the cameras, composition, etc. When your scene is ready, you can split up the scene (say ever 30 frames) over different Bryce scene files and render the animations seperately, then merge them together in post production. Release data...... May 11, 2001 Konan

timoteo1 ( ) posted Fri, 04 May 2001 at 1:32 PM

Okay, thanks. May 11 ... wow, that's great! Take care, Tim

seedpress ( ) posted Sat, 05 May 2001 at 10:54 PM

Konan, Seedpress here. I like your basic title suggestion, but agree with adh3D to add your company name also--just from a marketing standpoint. Then again, how about something like "Poser to Bryce" or "Poser2Bryce"? Problems using their brand names? Sorry to have not answered sooner. Somehow Renderosity used to notify me of a message response--now I'm not getting them. Who knows why? The internet is getting flakier and flakier!

timoteo1 ( ) posted Sun, 06 May 2001 at 12:20 AM

Seed: Was the notify box checked??

seedpress ( ) posted Sun, 06 May 2001 at 1:52 AM

I think so, but hard to tell now. Suddenly, since complaining, I'm getting the notifications. That's enough of this. I can't wait to try out Konan's new software. Less than a week!

seedpress ( ) posted Thu, 10 May 2001 at 2:31 PM

Konan: It's probably too late now, but here's another name suggestion: "Rosetta" (as in Rosetta Stone). I see by a previous thread that you had already thought of the obvious name of Poser2Bryce. Trust your target release date is on schedule?

konan ( ) posted Fri, 11 May 2001 at 7:30 PM

Actually, this week has been insane. I am currently fending off the flu. The actual software is done, but there are some final touches that have to be made before it can be released. Soon, very soon. Konan

seedpress ( ) posted Tue, 15 May 2001 at 12:38 AM

Sorry about your flu "attack." Hope you have been able to fend it off. Ever try massive crystalline Vt. C? I'd rather go through a couple of root canals than the last bout of flu I had! We are all pulling for you--and patiently awaiting your new software release. What will your next project be?

konan ( ) posted Tue, 15 May 2001 at 11:15 AM

Thanks seed, I am feeling 100% now. Thanks for you concern. I too am a fan of mega-dosing vitamin C. Just puting the final touces on the business end of Natural Pose. So many little details to attend to. Blah, blah, blah. For my next project, I am strongly considerning a "cheapy" human motion capture solution, that is a hardware/software combination that could cost under $1000 in total. I am very excited about the idea, but I have to run some tests to see if it is feasable. Konan

m_asharif ( ) posted Mon, 21 May 2001 at 5:34 AM

Konan, Glad to hear you're better. Any more progress on the software? Ash.

seedpress ( ) posted Mon, 21 May 2001 at 11:21 AM

Konan, The "cheapy" human motion capture sounds like a useful project. Hope it does turn out to be feasable. I'm sure those of us here would be interested in hearing more about it as your work progresses. Keep us posted if possible. Still anxiously awaiting the public release of "Natural Pose."
