THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Poking fun at bryce..care to help?

brycetech ( ) posted Tue, 17 October 2006 at 8:46 PM · edited Mon, 04 November 2024 at 3:38 PM

Hey all
The gallery is rendering away for dvd #3.  If Im lucky, I'll get my computer back in about 25 days...heh

anyhow, Im now working on the "storyline" for the dvd...
beyond just a tutorial, I want to do something extra..and in this one, I want to poke a little fun at bryce.  A little "tongue-in-cheek" humor that Brycers will love for the intro animation and the exit animation after the tutorials...

So Im asking for bryce cliche's
for example:
Bryce takes forever to render (I'm gonna have soooo much fun with that one)
and how about the mirrored spheres over water image that EVERYONE has to make!  Thats like a law or something (I swear it is, go check your state codes!)

B6 will export, so I cant poke fun at it not exporting...

so, those are/were the big 3...am I missing any?

:)

Ahhh....yeah, the "black hole" of Bryce not being able to export is kinda (yet not completely) out.

How about;
-The fear, mystery and steep learning curve that is the DTE.

Foreverenders are also part of the white Line you're not sure is moving. You could offer Windows Desktop wallpaper of your choice with the white renderline that never moves. .....Or funny tutorials with suggestions like "How to speed up your render" , No shadows, no extra lights, nothing reflective or transparent, no imports......All this will really speed up your renders!!

The SOW's is classic for sure.

You can elude to the 465 steps to getting a quality Poser with trans maps imported.

Great idea

"Bryce is dead"
Not very funny but very cliche. I'm so sick of reading it I could puke.

ICM's 'disable everything to speed up renders' has to be a classic. Just reading the other day at DAZ how true ambience is the devil, from someone clammering to have radiosity in the program :b_tonguewink:

Boofy ( ) posted Tue, 17 October 2006 at 9:57 PM

maybe an eternal fly around camera that gets a bit.....lost?

bump him into mountains, put on ICM's sunnies, strip him down to his his gears for the speed up render, search the universe for the lost trans maps?

this could be your guide/narrator for the tutorial if you enjoy his antics!!!

brycetech ( ) posted Tue, 17 October 2006 at 10:24 PM

lol

you all are having too much fun

the renderline wallpaper is great! lol

now how to get all of this into a 4 minute skit

:)

Boofy ( ) posted Tue, 17 October 2006 at 11:40 PM

"now how to get all of this into a 4 minute skit?"

that is simple! You make a 10 minute beautiful, artistic, informative production and then do a 'Bryce' ie:disable the colours, textures, animations, shadows  and  extra lights and your're done!

Or just cram it all in and make us go WOW!

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Tue, 17 October 2006 at 11:54 PM

SOW's always remind me of a phrase "You made something beautiful out of SOW's ear"  How would one render that? A metamorphosis of  sow's ear into a beautiful SOW? Maybe a SOW with a reflection of a sow's ear in it?

What exactly is wrong with a sphere over water? 😕

Bryce renders are the only thing on this planet slower than continental drift. You could have a mountain range forming in the background faster than one rendering on a monitor.

Steve, you do realise you have put this forum back about 5 years. Like gay rights and save the whale campaigns we have worked hard to educate people. This doesn't help.

Besides, I think it is illegal. Or at least not socially acceptable.

Nuttin'  I love them.   I think some people think they're too simple. In some way they're a calssic rendering motif. It still takes some skill to do them well!

And don't ask me what possesed me to create this image... but I just had to get it out of my system ;)

The Pig appears to floating, flying nears the spheres. Are you subconsiously suggesting reflective spheres will be okay, when pigs fly?

The Poser equivalent of the Bryce SOW is a badly posed nude lady with an extremely unnatural expression. In other words, it's what one does with the program until one actually gets enough experience to use the program well. A process we all have gone through.

Nothing wrong with images like that so long as they aren't posted to anything other than the Beginner's Gallery.

But they are.

Your poser equivalent to SOW just about describes the whole poser Gallery.

Yes you lot. I know. Pays the bills blah, blah, blah. Burn me in effigy.

Now back to our regular scheduled thread.

A skeleton with cobwebs slouched over a keyboard, while a Bryce render is on the screen with the render-line 1/4 the way down would be funny...  At least that's how I picture poking fun at the program.

Oh yeah, and you can make the visible part of the render a shiny metal sphere over water.

You said it, Cyba, not me.  :^) (but you may notice I'm not arguing with you)

That makes a nice change. The last time I make a statement like that I almost got RSI trying to type my way out from under it. 3 forums and about 8 threads.

AS might remember. I know Dann-o won't forget.

And don't forget to mention that is categorically, totally, absolutely impossible to shut Bryce down other than by using the task manager.

Unless, of course, you just happen to leave the cursor hovering near the top of the screen for a couple of moments...

It's all beautiful, Man !  i''s all beeaaautiful!

I find little piglets cute too.
I'm not being sarcastic... I do like them.

The piggy is reflectivelly floating in a sparkly nirvana, with soft warn carribean clear water under it to catch it's fall when it awakens. Musing at the interplay of photons bouncing around; seeing them, but unable to touch them; contemplating it's next meal ..... opps,  I mean LIFE.

I'm not high, I swear... I'm just at work, daydreaming.
LOL, I think I feel a Bryce Haiku coming...

Then after the SOW's, the bryce noob learns about bump maps, adds a few squares to the sphere, discovers a starfield, and we get:
a spaceship over water... in the middle of the night.

Maybe a very very dusty render button with spiderweb (says render on a keyboard key), you know, since it has not been needed since the last time it was used because the render still is not finished.
