Subject: Vue 6?

PerfectN ( ) posted Fri, 06 October 2006 at 9:42 PM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 10:33 PM

Aside from 3rd quarter 06, with a further update of "sometime in october"...does anybody have a confirmed date for Vue 6 yet?

Thanks
Bruce Colero

Oooh, so close! I can't wait.

I hope they wait another month! I've just upgraded my Cinema 4D to R10 and I can't afford to upgrade Vue this month as well :-)

I hope this version of vue is not like the others, where the features are buggy and take a year to fix. I hope e-on has learned from the past and won't release vue 6 until most of the bugs are squashed. I don't want to be an unpaid beta tester for the majority of the bugs. I can handle a few bugs, but not a majority where it looks like people are just not doing their jobs at e-on. Without any sight of the preorder upgrade, it looks like vue 6 won't be out for a long time. Unless there is no preorder upgrade.

I was pretty happy with vue 5 infinite...I didn't suffer from any bug that I can think of.
Im looking forward to 6 simply because of the ability to use displacement maps.

I've never really had bug problems with my Vue; I just hope version 6 is everything they're promising (faster renders, rewritten code). I've been fiddling with World Builder lately. I like it more than Vue because it is quite a bit faster and is not as noisy. It's "niche market" is a little scary though. I really want to use Vue but I think (Infinite up to now) is not adequate for animation production at the moment.

Actually for me, landscapes only represent a small part of my images. Since I concentrate on the figure in the render, everything else around it is secondary.

lol, there has been a long list of bugs and features that just didn't work in the history of vue. From render farm problems to memory problems to store bought C3D problems, the list is too long to list. Vue as it stands right now is finally working well, but it took a long time.

I guess I was fortunate not to have noticed any problems. But I agree with you, I hate when software is released with bugs. Poser 6 is still a train wreck of a program if you ask me.

If you're just after quick chick renders and not photo-realistic ones, DAZ Studio is free still.

Thanks Shonner, my images are all photorealistic. Ill continue to use poser 5 for now, though in curious labs defence I have not installed the latest service pack and that might have helped things. Some of the new features in Vue 6 requires you to use poser 6 (I believe).

shrug

P7 is about to hit the market, anyway.  So it might be a moot point soon.

I contacted e-on software on Friday, they said "at this point we don't have a date to tell you", despite what question I asked the response was exactly the same....he didn't deviate or offer any further information...."These are not the droids your looking for"
When is Poser expected to hit anyway - all I could get from the release was "this fall"

XENOPHONZ ( ) posted Sat, 14 October 2006 at 9:54 PM

We might see P7 before we see Vue 6.  Then again: we might see Vue 6 before we see P7.  I honestly don't know.

But I agree with others that I'd rather have a working version of Vue 6 in January than to have a non-working version in early November.

I am looking forward to Vue 6 Infinite.  I suspect that they'll do very well.

I'm looking forward to the subsurface scattering material renders from Vue 6 Infinite.  And if Poser 6 figures import even better, that would be cool.  Wouldn't need Poser 7 then.

Terrance ( ) posted Wed, 18 October 2006 at 1:03 AM

Actually the big event is at Cornucopia.
