Subject: Qs about lights

Anyone have a link to primers on Poser (6) lights?  I don't know much about them, I usually just use the default lights and tinker with the RGB and intensity.  I have several light sets in my library but I can never get them to work right.  The ones with few lights all seem designed for portraits or chiaroscuro and turn out dark renders (this probably has a good bit to do with the fact that I know jack about rendering).  The ones with lots of lights always give me a headache and simply present MORE options for me to screw up.  So, I figure it's time to learn a bit.  Specifically I'm interested in environmental lighting, lighting an entire scene, rather than portrait-type lighting.

I was also wondering if anyone knows how to translate (rotate, specifically) all ligths or multiple lights at once, as a group.  That would be very handy for me because my #1 light problem right now is not so much the light set up as getting the scene and the lights aligned.  I could rotate everything else in the scene but that's kind of a lame way of doing it and it would be easier to rotate the lights.

sounds like you need to use shadowcams. these are views from the light's POV and will show you exactly where the light is pointing.
