And a deafening silence was suddenly heard from all of the whiners, complainers and naysayers.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

I think Poser 7 is going to be the most exciting release of Poser EVER!

Some people really like themselves. Anyhow, I never bought poser 6 and I am still on the fence about poser 7. To call people whiners for not having your point of view is ignorant. Didn't your mom teach you better? Is the silence broken yet...?

crack (<-- sound of breaking silence)

Actually, I'm pretty sure the whiners were being called whiners because it was felt that they were whining. The differing point of view thing is a separate condition. 😄

-Some people do like themsleves. To whom are you referring?

-Thanks for the update on your plans to upgrade. Keep us posted.

-I think it's ignorant to whine and complain before software actually arrives.

-Best to leave my mother out of this. She doesn't use Poser.

-No, the silence hasn't been broken in any significant way. Sounds more like the only thing that's been broken is wind.

Oh ohh ooh, Mist'r Ca"ter. "Here's to the Eternal Blue Flame."

Sorry, one of those flash backs. At least I didn't start to quote Cheech and Chong. "Dave's not here."

Kotter and Cheech & Chong?  Have we teleported back to the 70's?  Time to find my polyester suit! :P

I was one of those long hair freaky people that use to chase disco'ers with baseball bats. Watch all our favorite band die in plane crashes, break up or just OD.

Still waiting to see the other 6 reasons not to buy Poser 7 are.
So far all I see is because of its new content was the first
thing listed by E-Frontier as the reason not to buy Poser 7.
I feel cheated. I want to know what the other 6 reasons not to buy are.
If I don't buy Poser 7, I need some damn good reasons
not to, otherwise I am going to go ahead and buy it.

7 reasons not to buy Poser 7?  I sat through reading a whole bunch of rhetoric and hyperbol but maybe 1 reason, in the authors mind, why not to buy.  How about this reason, I have written to eFrontier about the compatibility with Windows 64 bit O/S's since the announcement of Poser 7.  Their response, nada zilch total friggin silence.  Guess what folks, the world is evolving and computers are evolving to the next step, which is 64 bit.  No longer will we have to worry that our 3 figures will have too many textures and over saturate our limited 3.5 gigabyte of ram.  My next machine, which is slowly being built, is going to have 16 gig of ram.  Why, because one day I wish to master animation and graphic design.  I do not want to worry if my program will halt my rendering and tell me that I have insufficent memory.  The first program I will be running on my new toy, Vue 6 Infinite.  Why?  Because they have gone the way of technology and released it with 64 bit compatibility.  eFrontier, you want my hard earned duccats?  Give me 64 bit compatibility or keep your software.

Nevr argue with an idiot, they will only drag you down to their level and beat you with their expertise.

Well, if it is going to be one of there 7 exciting reasons to get poser 7 then they aren’t going to tell you.
If they say yes, then they undercut their own marketing.
If they say no, then there will likely be a backlash, which is negative publicity and will undercut their marketing.
If they say that they can't say then they have essentially said yes and have undercut their marketing.
If it isn’t there then they want to delay the bad publicity as long as possible to get pre-orders in.
For marketing purposes, neglecting to answer is their best option.

Since they've announced MacOSX UB support for Poser 7, it may be that Windows 64-bit support is going to be there or in the works.  Actually, I'm surprised that it isn't the other way round.  For me, migrating Windows code to 64-bit was a breeze and a song.  Migrating MacOS PPC code to UB was torture.  They are enforcing their new filesystem structures over POSIX paths - even for simple, ubiquitous C methods like fopen() - this means that code that works on every other system since the dawn of computers - Babbage Inductive Engine, I think ;) - fails with XCode on MacOSX.  That's a Microsoft maneuver in my books (hope that hurts a little).  Plus, they are quickly eliminating support for the archaic Resource fork/data - which is great - except when you are writing plugins that access Resource data used by another cough application cough. ;)

gad..is it even out yet?..;) If we're gonna play this game, then

I'm very upset about the '06 Congressional Elections. I mean, how could they possibly have turned out that way? Did you see the vote totals? I mean, come on! what do they take us for! I demand a recount, it's just not responsible....;)

(note today's date..;)

It will be easier to obtain the "outcome" of the election before it takes place then it will be to obtain it afterward with these nifty new paperless "voting" machines!

Did I just hear clicking on my internet line?

oh, like I didn't see that coming!..;)

Still, I'll be a lot more concerned one way or the other when there's something you can put your hands on...;)

Poser content?  Folks use the content provided with the software?  i didn't know that.  I don't have much faith in the content to be honest.  I love the software, but I go elsewhere for content.  Why they don't just merge with DAZ is beyond me,
