to get back to computer stuff and was feeling better from my lung problems...and a little better from loosing Travis.....a Car drove into my house!!

too big for any galleries....
http://www.lynescreations.com/OurHouseCrash.jpg

there was a solid bush near that sprinkler head (lower left of building corner) you see here, our landscapers took the crushed thing out for us today...this is the right front corner of our garage, and am so glad our garage IS the front of our house!! Scary and frightening but could have been worse. This one shows only a fraction of the damage and I bet his Lexus is just as bad off.... he was not drunk or on drugs that I could tell, but how he could turn right from the corner THREE HOUSES UP and speed across my neighbor's drive (that is the front of his house on the right) and into the corner of our home.... is "one for the books".... I just can't imagine!!! The next 2-3 weeks will NOT be pleasant as the crew takes the bad out and puts it right...with my health I will seal the window frames inside the two room above (where I am now on the computer) and be downstairs a lot watching TV... sigh... at least the guy owned up, but maybe because he saw a lady walking her dog and new there was a witness?? I still can't believe...."my foot slipped off the metal-covered break pedal and hit the gas"... huh??

sooo if I go missing for chunks of time, folks will know...

Sorry to hear that, Lyne, but not long ago a drunken customer of a local party store actually drove into the party store through the front window (This is true). The owner did not press charges because the guy was a good customer, LOL!

Sorry to hear Lyne. Good luck with the fixing.

I was told by the Sheriffs and also the contractor "this happens all the time" ....but gee, when it happens TO you, it really is a shock! Especially on our tiny quiet slow speed bump street! At least both insurance companies seem to be fast and helpful...I just dread the days of work as I have to stay here and the way our house is built all the construction WILL reverberate through the house.... but...it could have been worse... right now a fire far inland from us is wrecking people's lives and killing fire fighters.... what a sad time for them!

lyne,

i am sorry for your mishap. yes, it sucks...but you are safe and no one is hurt.

you sound as if you are very close to where i live (fallbrook) because we have a major fire going on in banning and 4 firefighters lost their lives. it is actually difficult to breathe here and we are a good 100 miles away from the fire...also we are socked in with smoke and ash.

today was the anniversary from the devastating fire 2 years ago (?) in san diego and some asshole "intentionally" lit this one today. what is the world coming to?

anyways, i hope all goes well with your repairs and insurance.

best regards, ray

Hope you get it sorted quickly and with little hassle, Lyne. What a shock it must have been!

Where we used to live, our neighbours across the street and down often had cars land in their front garden, as they were facing the bottom of a hill. But usually the drivers were drunk or stoned, or had TWOCked* the car.

I have to confess that I once bumped into another car because I was checking out a guy's ass, so maybe your "visitor" was looking at the dog-walking lady... ;o)

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

When I was 12 we had a drunk plow threw our livingroom injuring my younger brother. I have no tolerance for drunks or for those that think they are better than everyone else that they need not obey the law. These are the very same people who will whine and bitch if they get hit by some one else who isn't obeying the law. I don't buy the "my foot slipped off the metal covered brake pedal and hit the gas" BS either. Sounds like to me someone was speeding a lost control. That's not an accident that being stupid and foolish.  I'm very sorry you have to deal with the damage to your home at the hands of yet another idiot. For some reason people think they are operating a toy and not a 2000 pound weapon that can kill and mame. Just ask the families of the 43,000 Americans that were killed last year in auto related deaths. Ban this, ban that but don't you dare tell me how to drive my car.

I hope all works out for you Lyne and nothing more happens. You've been throught enough!!

Cheers,
Micheál

Thanks for all your words...it helps to be "not alone"... the "Project Manager" did not call me on Friday so I expect a call on Monday (or I will call! :))  .... and then I expect a work start date, if not the workers themselves... I have very fragile lungs but hope that my computer room (over the garage) will be okay to be in (I have a machine that takes dust and stuff out of the air, and will have my windows sealed off) so that I can come on line here and there.... but we shall see.

Micheál, I am SO sorry to hear what happened to you!! You have every right to be so angry and upset (and I am sorry that my situation hit a nerve).... I really think "my" guy was having trouble with his little daughter and he took his eyes off the road and probably turned into my house from trying to deal with her... and I am betting he did not want to admit to anything like that, as it means the kid was not in the right car seat or buckled in or something... !??!  Regardless, his is a jerk!! I am just greatful that (so far) things seem to be moving along and I am hoping by the end of November my life will be back to a "normal crazy".... ! Enough is enough of extra crazy for me.... 8(
