Subject: Including path in zip file

rp2536 ( ) posted Thu, 26 April 2001 at 2:29 PM · edited Fri, 02 August 2024 at 5:45 AM

I need to find out how to include my path files for my character in a zip file I want to upload to the marketplace. I have a character (cr2, .jpg, etc) but need to know how to include the paths for the files so they can post it. Any helpful tips would be appreciated. Rich

Here is the way I do it. In your root folder c: create a folder called runtime. c:runtime Then in this runtime folder create all the folders needed for your product. Place only the files needed for your product in this folder structure. Use WinZIP and ZIP up starting with the runtime folder you just created in c:. This will allow cusotmers to load the files into what ever folder they placed Poser in. I load Poser into c:Poser on my systems. So when I unZip your product file I unzip to c:Poser and then the files all get placed in the proper folders under runtime. Does that help? If not please feel free to respond. Good luck! Clint

Make sure you include each sub folder. Have someone test it for you. Ron

Here's how I do it....I created a folder on my C drive called Runtime. After I make whatever it is I'm making in Poser...I copy the file there before zipping them into a zip file. This allows ppl to have Metacreations or Curious Labs as their Poser folder. Hope this helps in some small way.
