You might want to move your post to CGTalk, more Xstream users over there. I'm afraid you won't get much help bout Xstream here.

Have you tried posting a support request to tech support over at the e-on software website? Or asking your question in their registered user forums?

I think after reading the product information on the e-on site you need to buy xstream for either maya or max. I don't think it will work on both.  Hopefully this will help.

Did you indeed install Xstream for Maya, or did you just install it for Max and load it in Maya? This can't work. You need one Xstream plug in for Max, and another different one for Maya.

How could it be possible that the full functional demo doesn't works n I go forward to buy the product? And as "Zoser" was saying " I don't think it will work on both " for this I can say that during the installation process the software asks for Supporting Software "Maya 7 .... , Max 8 ...etc etc" where I have loaded for both the softwares as well. Even it comes in the PLUGIN MANAGER of MAYA 7 but after CHEAK-ing the load button, nothing changes in the tool bar or nothing special comes through which I can incorporate both the sofwares. I don't know what can I do now. Thankzz for ur helps .

Since when is CGTalk a pay site? I am there and have never paid a cent. There are paid parts, true. But not the Vue forum.

However, when it is a plugin for a software the chance that the same plugin works for another software are extremely small. I personally have never heard something like that. So yes, in my eyes they are different versions but can't you download both demos? For Max and for Maya?

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

I guess you can only install the demo either for Max OR Maya, not both. If you already installed it for Max, you can't install it for Maya with the same product code. You need another demo with a different code to install it for Maya.

Thnkz for ur replies, but for your kind information, I have just dowloaded the software past 10-15 days back. And even today there is no a installer which independent for each softwares like MAYA or MAX. In the site "https://secure.e-onsoftware.com/try/vue_5_xstream/" there is only one installer wich works for the Software MAYA n MAX and I have downloaded this installer only. Where as the plugins works fine in MAX 8 but not on MAYA 7.

bruno021 ( ) posted Sat, 28 October 2006 at 1:15 AM

The serial you were given in the e-mail se,t by e-on works only once. If you used it for installing Xstrream for Max, you can't use it again for  Maya. You need a new serial.

rahulvfx ( ) posted Sat, 28 October 2006 at 1:29 AM

I can't understand? if the software donsn't support both MAYA n MAX at a time, then why it would ask for the compatible software during installation process? (where many soft's like C4D, Light wave, Maya, MAX n .....r named to CHECK in) n I hv checked both. Even it is comming on the PLUGIN manager of MAYA, but after checking the LOAD,nothing comes VUE xStream. The problem is here. If any body has a work pipeline for xStream with MAYA plz post. Thankzzzzzzz ! Greetzzz

I rthink you don't want to understand what I'm saying. Enough now.

rahulvfx ( ) posted Sat, 28 October 2006 at 2:16 PM

Don't get angry plzzz, I'm seriously facing the problem. Okk now say do I hv to download another installer of xStream for MAYA 7? Or I hv to get another Passward n run the installer again? But the site contains only one DEMO installer.

bruno021 ( ) posted Sun, 29 October 2006 at 4:58 AM

OK, the demo works for Max & Maya, even in Lightwave and Cinema4D, but you can install it only on one application, so you need to choose between Max & Maya. If you already installed it for Max and you want to install it for  Maya, you need another serial to be able to use Xstream in Maya. And you need to ask e-on the new serial, no need to download the demo again, but you do need a new serial from e-on, and then reinstall Xstream for Maya.
