I am trying to follow Traveler's tutorial for creating Morph Targets with Amorphium. I have downloaded the trial version of Amorphium Pro v1.1 and I am trying to follow the tutorial, but Traveler is using the non-pro version and the pro version does not work the same. I am to "Stage Two: Morphing Time in Amorphium!" I have selected Project:Import like the tutorial says, and selected the .obj file that I just made in Composer with Vicky's head and the magic triange, and the tutorial says Amorphium is supposed to open a dialog box that gives me several options that I am supposed to set. But the Pro version that I have does not open a dialog box. It just opens the file without giving me any options at all. I tried to go ahead and finish the tutorial, and after creating my morph and exporting the new .obj file I opened it up again in Composer but Composer will not open the file. It gives errors and never opens the file. Obviously it was because I could not fix those settings. So I downloaded the old version of Amorphium, only to find out the old demo does not allow you to save! Well, I'm certainly not spending $229 to register Amorphium if I can't figure out how to make morph targets for Poser with it. That's the only reason I want Amorphium! Anyway, does anyone know anything about the tutorial and the Pro version? How can I set these options in the Pro version without the dialog box? I have 20 working hours left before my trial expires and I'd like to be sure I can do this process before I spend that much money to register! I would appreciate any tips that anyone could give me. See the tutorial link if you need to know what I'm talking about regarding the dialog box and such. Thanks, Tara

If you run a search for Amorphium Pro in this forum, I remember someone posting the solution for using Amorphium Pro for morphs. I don't think you need to use the magic triangle with Pro, but there are some other steps you need to take.

heyas; do NOT use travs amorphium tutorial with amorphium pro! amo pro did away with the need to do the whole song and dance. amo pro, however, reverses the order of the vertices on import/export. the workaround was to import the obj you want to morph, export it from amo pro, then import THAT and work on it. at the next export, the twice-reversed order will come out straight.

In some morphs made with amorphium pro I am getting the dreaded black polygons, mainly around the eyebrows and mouth corners (P4 fem). Anyone else getting this?

been using Amorphium for about two years and the only thing that ive done with it is morph targets and for that it can't be beat. it was one program i didn't bulk on the price with. but for doing mt's it is a snap put one in the left and the other in the right of the triangle clip the arrow and there is a mt ready th output to .obj. its worth getting just for that. reddog 271

Okay, I'll give it a try without the other steps and let you know what happens. Thanks!

hey trav... is the mesh splitting at seams of different materials? i dont see how a morph can degenerate facets that weren't degenerated to start with... :/

Traveler ( ) posted Fri, 27 April 2001 at 5:55 PM

That is a damn good question.... I will have to strip the materials out and see what happens. -Trav

Ok, I got one to work :) Here was the process: -Opened the head .obj file in a text editor, removed all of the VT lines, and all of the Usemtl lines. Saved it. -Imported into amorphium pro -Exported it, -Reimported it -Did my morph -Exported it. -Opened it in uvmapper, Hit the Insert key to fix the degenerate polys -Exported from uvmapper with all boxes unchecked. -Trav
