I haven't browsed the galleries here much at all. However, from what I see and hear in other galleries, most of those involved with Poser can't stand even having a glaring technical error pointed out (like a Certain Prop that is detached from the Figure, where you can see between the base of the prop and the figure).

A lot of those getting into CG, whether 2 or 3D, are not professionals, and have no serious training in Traditional Art (even those areas that pertain to ALL media). As a result, they have no experience with Critiques.

*So what say we revive an old tradition of when you post an image, put a link here if you want serious criticism.  People can post their "public" gallery comments there, but then put serious criticism here in the forum where some serious learning can be done, and hopefully we can revitalize some of what this forum is supposed to be about... learning, sharing and growing... okay and some fun too.

"amen to that,"   comes small voice.  Since top20 now gone, is anyone going to be accused of trolling if that link is posted?

Anyone here got the time and fortitude "to put their money where their mouth is?"  I'm purely non-pro, hobbyist...  posting wip on forum seems to have devolved to either "fantastic" (which it may actually be) to dead silence from the peers here also.  Maybe I'll start posting in gallery and ask for critical comments only.  We'll see if there are any takers.  I'll play that role just to see if it works.  It won't hurt my feelings if it is constructive. (be prepare to view some of my crap) I might just get better as a result.

My next image, I'll post a link in here, and let's see what tears loose.  My money's where my mouth is.  it should be done either today or tomorrow depending on distractions.

I always tell people "It's a Satanic drug thing....you wouldn't understand."   Especially Jehovas Witnesses and Mormon missionaries.  It just tends to get cops and judges worked up though.

hi, pal :)    No, no kidding. XSI is an infinite app, plus I had some troubles that took me away from 3D world for a long time. You add these two things together and, lo, I'm still learning :)

I don't know about other people... I'd say no, they don't want any real criticism, but it's only my opinion. The last image I posted, I asked for crits and I received them, mostly useful, some pointing at flaws I had already detected in my pic. So, it depends on who's asking? Maybe... maybe people who know me know also that I accept serious criticism without problems (and also with gratitude) and they don't fear to offend me stating boldly what sucks in my image(s).

Stefano.

PS: Drac, may I hug you? :-p
