Hello everyone.  Been reading through the Forum topics and thought I would introduce myself.  I have been a member of Renderosity for a little over three years now.  I do not know why I haven't posted to the forum until now.   Probably because I have been trying to become somewhat adept at the use of  the Byce and Poser programs and busy at my writing site PanHistoria, where I am a founding member and a staff member as well.

I didn't know if it was okay to create a new topic for this. I didn't see any other (Introduce Yourself)  topics here......so if I did wrong, please excuse me.  S

Welcome to the Writers' Forum.   :)

Do tell us more about PanHistoria.  Always like to hear about other writing sites new to me.

This is a pretty low key forum but I think you'll find a lot of writers hidden in the nooks and crannies. I hope you will feel free to post often.

About PanHistoria

Pan Historia means "all history": referring to the idea of the panorama of history from the ancient to the far future.

Pan Historia is designed to be a community for writers, graphc artists, and researchers - with an emphasis on interactive creative fiction often called role play but here called story play. HOWEVER while Pan Historia is a home for story players, it's also a home for all sorts of writers with sections for short stories and poetry as well as the story play novels - where people can get together to write collaborative fiction. At the Reference Library people interested in writing about or discussing history, science, art, current events, etc, can get together in convivial surroundings, including our popular Reference Books.

The community was created after the Publishers were inspired in various other online communities but felt limited. Pan Historia is designed to, hopefully, strip away limits and allow story players freedom with their imagination.

Why Story Play?

Traditional role play often involves game like rules or complex charts and dice rolls. Story play is where it is totally in the imagination of colloborative writers.

Basic membership is free and you start out as a Cub.  After six or eight logins, you are atutomatically upgraded to Writer and are allowed to have three characters.  Each of your characters gets to have a home page and a profile page that you may decorate as you wish with HTML.  Levels beyond Writer require a paid memership.

There are many diferent Novels and Reference books to write in from all different types of Genres.  These range from Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Celtic etc. to Romance and Traveling the Stars.  Some being Fanfiction and some not.  Want to be a Pirate?  You can do that too.

But do not just take my word for it.  Check it out yourself. (See the Link at the top of this post)

I write under several different characters there.  Micah Blade, Elgon Agis, Cain, and ArchMage are my main ones,  so if you see me on the Instant Message Panel send me a Gram.  I will be glad to help you out and show you around.

I'm not ( I think, anwayay), a role-playing nerd. Before the role-playing nerds get offended, lemee clarify that I do roleplay with out of town friends about once a month, that I spent way too much of my youth in roleplaying games, and I spent about ten years playing the text-based rpg Dragonrealms before i just sort of fell out of it.

That's neither here not there, I guess, my original poitn was supopsed to have been that when I do roleplay once a month or so, it's more like the story play you've described and less rules and dice-rolling. Lately I've been into more sort of modern era stuff than historical or future or fantasy, but I'll give the site a peep. With the caveat that I can get frightfully bored with even the most entertaining stuff pretty quickly.

See you there.
