Thanx for posting this Lillian, hopefully the members I've contacted re: this situation will see this and IM me as soon as they remove the images from their galleries as today I'm just too sick with this horrid cold/flu to check. At least today,... I can barely type, and 2 fingered at that...sigh...back to bed for bobby

Hope you feel better soon Bobby!
You and the rest of the Contest Managers have really done an amazing job considering the record number of entries, the need further clarification on nudity mid-way into the contest and the number of people that missed some of the finer points of the rules.
Just want to make sure everyone that wants to participate has a shot at these incredible prizes.
We're almost there. Only two more days to go until judging!

Not to be a PIA but in MHO it is like a slap in the face to those that followed the rules to see that the few (or many) that could not follow the SPECIFCALLY stated rule were given a chance to ammend their error rather then disqualified as it stated in the rules...just my two cents here

Hi rebelmommy,
We try to be understanding of the fact that not all our members are native English speakers, which accounted for quite a few of the mistakes.
If we take the time to communicate what the main problem with contest entry is, we get complaints. If we don't and immediately delete images we get complaints.
We decided it best to communicate and educate.
Not everyone gets it right the first time.

I wasn't going to say it, cause I didn't want to be the P.I.T.A. but you are absolutely right.Â

So why wasn't that same communication and education afforded to those who had some "questionable nudity" in their images?
Â
Again i'm really not trying to be a P.I.T.A. but, it does seem to me that some real unfairness and favortism went on with the contest this year.

So why wasn't that same communication and education afforded to those who had some "questionable nudity" in their images?
As far as I know EVERY image deemed to have questionable nudity was kept in Pending and an IM AND an e mail was sent to the member. No time limit other than the end of Contest was ever stipulated and those who responded with an image that had been modified to the particular demands of this contest had their image approved immediately, if not by the Manager who Pended it because they were tending their real life in some way, then by another of the volunteer Manager/Judges who was online at the time. We went way out of our way in some cases allowing 2 or 3 modifications, whilst not counting any previous unacceptable against the 2 images allowed per artist. We did go over the top, in my opinion, to make sure every one got at least one image in if they submitted an acceptable one. There are over 500 images approved so I think we were quite successful in that. I do hope this quells your sense of indignation over an unspecified incident.
I fail to see how favoritism could even play a role as we were managing by an iron clad set of rules that was there for every one who wanted to enter to read before they did. As far as judging goes, names will not even play a role as we have a set of rules to use there as well, and my method of judging is I have dl ed each image to my HDD were they are ONLYÂ identified by their Contest Image Number, which is what we enter into the order of choices. Like so:
Image XXXXXX – 1st place/winner
Image XXXXXX – 2nd place
Image XXXXXX – 3rd place
Image XXXXXX – 4th place
Image XXXXXX – 5th place
Image XXXXXX – 6th place
Image XXXXXX – 7th place
Image XXXXXX – 8th place
Image XXXXXX – 9th place
Image XXXXXX – 10th place
As a Manager/Judge/Moderator I don't think I can post them [the guidelines]Â here but maybe an Admin. can if that will calm your fears.
Hope that covers everything.....

Yup, Bobby is right, some members even got several IM's/Emails..some that didnt upload thumbs, had too large an image, etc..the managers and judges asked members if they would rather reupload all of it ,or if they preferred someone to go in and fix the image size or make a thumb...many members preferred that..so the judges and managers really did alot of things for them...I saw no favortisim at all..just alot of good people working together is what I saw

**Dear members,**It has come to our attention that several images submitted to the Halloween Contest have been posted in the artist's personal online art gallery.
We would like to remind everyone the rules state:
Entries may not appear online anywhere else except this contest page during the contest or until the Contest Winners have been Posted. (Contest submissions may NOT be posted in the artist's Renderosity gallery.)
We would like to give everyone a chance to remove those images from their galleries before the contest closes on Tuesday, October 31st at midnight (CST).
Entries that are still found posted anywhere online other than the contest after October 31st, will unfortunately have to be disqualified and removed from the contest.
If you know an artist that has made this mistake, please let them know so they can correct the problem and still participate in the contest.
Best regards,
The Renderosity Contest Manager Team
