What will be your costs, Who is going to do the printing, How large will the prints be? If they expect you to provide a printed product you had better find out what these costs will be. Also how elaborate will these posters be, how much work will you have to put in? 1 hour, 2 hours, 3? Never put a flat rate on work like this, or you may find yourself. Doing and redoing a piece for a week or more for only $100 dollars. Unless your clients will accept anything you produce for them as final for $100 you need to scale your fees according to how much work it will take to get to the finished product. Personally I would start at $100 and work up from there. If you dont you may find yourself spending days finalizing a work for only $100 and end up making less than minimum wage. I'd charge $20.00 Dollars per hour with a minimum of $100. This way if you spend 6 hours on a work you get $120.00 etc. This also keeps your cliets from unessarily having you redo time and time again for no valid reason as they will be paying for the extra time. Just some things to consider.

The client provides the initial photo, i design the poster and hand the computer image file back to them to deal with the printers themselves so i am really just charging for my time. A very valied point about charging by the hour,i think i`m gonna take your advice on that one! Thanks pnevai!

As a commercial designer in the UK, and as something of a PS guru, I charge 35 an hour. (Try to avoid at all costs doing an all-in price, as so many clients think they are designers, and they will have you chasing your tail for weeks if they know they can). As the other guys said, a lot depends on how quick you think you can do it. I am an experienced user, so I can charge a lot but do it quickly, you are maybe less experienced, so you charge less, but it takes you longer, so the final charge may be the same, except I have my feet up while you are still working!! The image size is also important, as if it is going to be high res (ie say a 150dpi poster), then this may slow down your work a lot unless you have a super-whizzy computer. Bear this in mind. Also, add at least 20% more time to the job than you think it will take, becaue people invariably underestimate, rather than over. Hope this helps. email me if you want a chat on the phone.

Thanks for the info Rob i found it very useful.I already have an arrangement with my agent who has set me up with my initial poster work but thanks to you i have a better idea of how to deal with any future clients. I`ve have already started to experience the re-do it like this just to take a look ect... so i will steer away from a fixed price in future. Cheers!
