Subject: Need help replacing my avatar

Digiyogi ( ) posted Sun, 05 November 2006 at 12:09 AM · edited Sat, 08 February 2025 at 4:47 AM

I tried to replace my avatar by choosing a different image on my profile page but after I clicked "save changes" it kept reverting back to the original image. I even tried deleting the original one before choosing the replacement but the same thing happened. I also made sure that the image file I wanted to use meets the size/dimension specs. Any ideas?

Hi all,

Wouldn't it be appropriate to add to the "Change Avatar Page" some sort of instructions, or reminder to the member, to be sure to do a hard refresh,or clear the cache to reveal the new avatar. It seems a brief blurb on that page would be a simple remedy to keep this question from reoccurring so often here.

No offence intended to Digiyogi, or any others who have asked in the past.

It just seems that when the same question keeps popping up,one might think it;s time to add a bit of instruction to the process on that page..

Justa suggestion.

Yeah, it works now. Apparently just logging out and logging back in did the trick. And I agree with Hawkfyr that it would probably save the users some time and trouble if some brief notation were in a conspicuous place on the My Profile page. Anyhow, I'm just happy that it's working now. : )
