And second one....

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

I like this one because the sea is really smooth on one side of the harbour wall and not on the other :)

Of course I don't mind, Andreas, I really like what you've done with it. Much more atmosphere and feeling.

In fact, btw, I hope that no-one thinks I would mind any constructive help (you can consider them all DITIs, LOL). Heaven knows I will welcome any help I can get!!!  I'm really not happy with any area of my photography skills, but I'm not discouraged.

That is pretty darn cool Kort! I was actually fixing up a shot of a moon myself just now...and seeing how i wont be able to post anything in my gallery i might as well put it in here instead. I might however post it in my gallery later on...i´m quite pleased with how it turned out with only a 300mm lense strapped on. 😄

Off to bed for me now to watch the last episodes of Family Guy and American Dad....YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbupboth:

went a bit crazy with the saturation slider on that one andreas? :tt2: Nice shot tho 😄

this one was an "outtake" from the other afternoon of camera frollicking... it seemed they were competing with each other - the tips of their wings crossed at the back and sometimes "bowing" to reveal their full body and sometimes their backside to the other... then they just did this squarking at each other and went in unison towards the waves both doing the same.  I thought it was quite amusing sat about 4 metres away from all this happening (with my camera pointed at them snapping away).

edit - yeah i forgot to mention - the other guy made himself scarce as they were moving towards him  "if i duck low and move out the way, maybe they wont notice me" 😉

I´ll have you know that i didn´t even touch the saturation slider.....there are other ways to increase color. :tt2: LOL@your shot. Are they taunting him? Poor gull.

hehe - no they seemed to be competing against each other - initially i thought it might lead to violence and a cool action shot but then realised they were just showing off.  Maybe it was dominance over female rights or something, the other guy was just there (maybe she is the girl they were after).

Oh - so what did you do? duplicate layers and blend modes?

i was going through my archives and found this as an idea i had but never expanded on it really.  thought i would post it here to 1. bump the thread again as it is dying 😉 and 2. to post it somewhere because it isnt going in my gallery.

Just for the record: i did try using two lenses laid down like this in unison - it didnt work too well

Hi Rich.I'm not sure what idea you had originally, but if it were mine,I'd redo the shot so it was sharper,etc....Then I'd take another shot but of my eye, separate it from it's bg,liquify it,to distort it slightly, and then composite it into the center of the first pic,so you have an eye looking through a lens metaphorically looking at an eye in another lens...But hey, that's just me.LOL.

haha - that second shot is better - more context and definitely a scene i can relate to (having seen videos of me eating as a child).  :) i love the bit of cream on the side of his head

Marlene - you could actually do it by just putting someone's eye infront of the other lens... that sigma logo was the lens cap focused through the other lens. That was the idea i was playing with - and you are welcome to give it a try  Tho you have to use a low aperture to get the dof to make everything in focus so you know what you are looking at :)
