Subject: Few questions about Aiko3...

chinnei ( ) posted Sat, 11 November 2006 at 1:11 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 9:03 AM

1)  Is there any other version of Aiko3 other than Aiko 3 and Aiko 3 LE?  And is there any difference between those two other than LE doesn't have any morphs?

2)  Is there a separate injectable morph pack (like V3 and M3 does) for Aiko 3?  If no, then what would be the best way to go about stripping out the DAZ morphs and create them into injectable morphs?

Thanks.

There is aways Capsce's morph set over at daz for her, but fo the basic morphs, I think daz only has the stripped LE version, and the full version.

Aiko isn't set up the same way Vicky is....so it would really be quite a bit of work to strip all her morphs and make them injectable to act the same way. I'm not saying it wouldn't be possible....but you're looking at a lot of work in the attempt.

There are "hidden" empty morph channels in the cr2 file so that if you create a custom morph you can have a way to "inject" it by overwriting these empty channels, but everything else is basically self contained as far as Aiko is concerned.

I see.  Just curious, do you know why they decided to preload all the morphs for only A3?  Because, if I am not mistaken, all the other mil figures have Inj/Rem morphs.  The reason why I ask this is obviously the large file size issue.  For example, for V3, I even stripped out all the preloaded expression morphs from the head because it bloated the saved file.

You'd have to ask Daz about that one....I have no idea. =)

I find I like it much better the Aiko way.....I'm not concerned about file size...I just like being able to have all the dials right there at the ready so I can spend more time futzing with creating characters instead of "Do I load this one...or that one...." That's just me though.

Me too.. I hate hate HATE injection loading. It took me the better part of 3 hours to get M3 to take all his injections properly.

I saved him out, and will never have to go through THAT again now.. WHEW!

Thats why all my products are always cr2 based. (Of course almost all of them also include a lot of built in ERC cntrols as well.)

Hehe, well I guess I'm in the minority here on perferring the injection method then :)   Thing is, it only takes me a minute or two to load all the morphs (either for V3 or M3), and that's only when I need to create a character.  Most of the time when I save is when I'm working on a scene, and last thing I want is 10-15 files of a saved scene with each taking up about 100-200MB.

With a V3 stripped everything down, even the expression morphs, and injecting only the custom character, each scene costs me only 20-50MB at most with clothing and buildings all included.  Plus, I can't stand scrolling through all the unused morphs in the parameter everytime I need to make a change to a morph.  And I can easily work with several characters in the scene without dragging the system down,  and and and.....    Well, at least that's how I look at it anyways :)

Well, I'm curious as to DAZ's reasoning also. But I'm happy with the result.

For the record, the first and second generation millennium figures were, like Aiko 3, all morphs contained. It was a shock upon initially purchasing the millenium 3 figures to discover you had to go back and buy two more packages (face and body morphs) to get a fully functioning character. It was especially a shock with M3 because the base model didn't even have expression morphs. Then to discover for every additional figure you had to go back and buy their face and body morphs...

Chinnei, perhaps the reduced resolution  versions of Vicky 3 or Mike 3 might be of use to you when using multiple characters.

Basically there are less morphs so that was a big factor but I think the biggest factor was they got tired of the constant complaints about the INJection system and now anyone that wants to use them has to deal with the bloat of huge files. And constantly running out of space. Just a little bit annoyed by that
