Here's a progress rendering in Bryce for mbonchers kitty, Buster!  Still ways to go for more of the hair to show up, but I think I'm getting the coloring base pretty close to a flame point.

Texture is for the Poser's stock Cat model.
I'm doing most of the texturing (color underpainting)  in Z-brush with some touchups in Photoshop. Then I bring it back to poser and reattach the textures.
Then I open up Bryce 6, hit the DAZ Studio Button, import my saved poser file, and let Daz Studio translate it all into Bryce. That way all the textures come across right where they belong, mapped correctly.  BIG time saver.  I do some minor tweaks in bryce materials, like add bump mapping for the hair and tweak diffusion and other settings a little as needed.

Next painting pass, I'm hoping to add more hair/fur definition.

Connie, I saw this in the email you sent me and never had a chance to respond.  This looks fantastic!  After seeing this, I"m holding off on posting my latest picture till I can utilize this texture.  it's fantastic work, and I"m more than happy with you if you wish to make it a freebie for everyone interested too. :c)

Buster can play with everyone then!

What beautiful colouring!  I'd love to start texturing poser models myself like this.  Look forward to seeing the finished result.

You know, I don't know if there's any way to do this, but can you "pose" the pupils in Poser so you can get the wide eyed kitty in the dark look?  It's the only thing that makes him look... wrong I guess.  Otherwise this is going towards darn near perfection.  Just thought I'd ask if anyone knew.

I was looking for the posing of the eye pupils, but looks like Poser's basic kitty can't do that. I think the millennium cats can.  I haven't learned how to add morphs to poser yet.

The texture for millenium cat is mapped a whole different way though.... so I'd have to start painting it from scratch.

I don't have millenium cat anyway. :c(  I'll have to look into it for the future I guess.

Okay, mboncher, you modest thing you! You didn't tell us you finished and posted the "Lord of All he Surveys" in your gallery!
With gazillion images out there.... it's not easy to always spot what we want to see, a heads up is helpful....
