"I think it's a marketing decision to allow the figures to be able to be installed in as many locations as possible, like schools, and also to diffuse credit card company issues, and website filter issues." Um, I think if that were the case, Mike wouldn't be swinging a bat that would make Pete Rose blush. Similarly, they could have provided Posette with an alternate geometry genitals switch like 'Dork.' Whether it was (as Zygote allegedly said) an 'artistic' decision, sexism or some other known or unknown unknown I honestly don't know. It's merely one of those interesting bits of trivia that can be debated endlessly. Interestingly, the famous plaque attatched to the Pioneer 10 space probe launched in 1972 included depictions of a nude man and woman. The man was fully 'equipped,' but the woman was in the Zygote/Daz school of neutered female. Carl Sagan, who designed the plaque stated, "The decision to omit a very short line in this diagram was made partly because conventional representation in Greek statuary omits it. But there was another reason: Our desire to see the message successfully launched on Pioneer 10. In retrospect, we may have judged NASA's scientific-political hierarchy as more puritanical than it is. In the many discussions that I held with such officials up to the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the President's Science Adviser, not one Victorian demurrer was ever voiced; and a great deal of helpful encouragement was given." Perhaps the Poser females designers were operating from a similar form of self imposed censorship based on a misreading of the social climate. Then again as they say, 'Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.'

"Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance." - H. L. Mencken

The artists behind the figures are very badly credited. I can more/less understand why DAZ doesn't list Anton as House Mouse (and Mouse House) creator (if he didn't admit it here at forums I probably still wouldn't know) - there were personal attacks involved, as usual when Anton goes away - but why they didn't put proper names of artists who are still around, many of them still working on Poser content ? Maybe with more personal contact with modellers/rigging people we had figures more accurate to what we wish for than with that whole company stuff/staff... Besides, I really would like who's behind some of Aiko/Hiro features ;)

Quote - i wish he would do an apollo type female. Oh well.

He sort of did an Apollo/Female when he did the V3-Male morph Set (I think it's part of the main V3 product now?) - Definate Family resemblance there in the face...

Dan Farr was the head-model for Mike 1 and 2 - you can recognise that mighty jaw!

There was a V4 sneaky preview pic in a recent Daz newsletter - just her eye linked from a tiny clickable graphic. the rest of the pic was blurred. Hopefully she'll turn up for Xmas.

Cheers

Quote - I do however get tired of the constant reposting of the same BS rants be some people over and over again., regardless of topic, or location.

I can appreciate that, believe me. :-)
