I'm still kind of new to Poser so I hope this question does not sound too silly. Whenever I do my final production render & it is complete I get this fuzzy multi-colored pixelated haze around the edges of my render. This happens with all images, background imported or not. I end up spending time in Photoshop cleaning these edges up. I have tried different settings in my render options but seems nothing is helping & I read through my poser book with no success at all. I am doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

What version of Poser are you using?

If it's Poser 6, set your render options manually, rather than using the automatic settings.  Lowering the shading rate, increasing pixel samples, and adjusting the max. texture size can make a big difference.

Also, save your image as a TIFF or other uncompressed file type.   The default is really low-res JPG, which usually looks terrible.

Thanks, I use Poser 5. I've tried all the manual adjustments, I do save to jpeg. I will try saving as TIFF.

The JPG is likely the problem, then,  The default in P5 is 25% JPG.  Which is really, really lossy.  If you want to save as a JPG, at least increase the quality.  (100% is best.)

Anyway, if that doesn't fix it, post a screen shot of your render settings.

If you use the P4 render engine, then make sure that Anti-Alias is checked in render options.

Never save images as jpeg from Poser. IMHO, you're better off saving as TIF and use another program, such as photoshop to convert your image to jpeg. You'll get better compression and a higher quality image.

I second that, Tainted_Heart.

Unless I just want to throw out a render for discussion, I don't like rendering to jpg even at 100% quality.  I much prefer converting to jpg in some other app. 

I got used to rendering to .png - it's a non-lossy format, doesn't  take as much space as .bmp and retains background transparency which is good for postwork composition in 2D apps :)

Same goes for creating animations as well. Don't save as AVI - save it as a series of BMP's much better quality, if it crashes 2/3's through then you don't need to re-render the whole thing
just part of it.  

Obviously takes up a litlle more room and you have join these pictures together using video editing software.
