Yes, there are others who have that as well. I quote from the Cornucopia3D thread of a guy who had the same problem
"I finally got it to work by restarting deleting the old files and re-downloading."
I am not sure wether you have tried this already. I guess so. I would try to do it on another computer maybe. Or download the downloader again.

I downloaded the "Downloader" again and that didn't work. I also deleted all the files and started from scratch.. Hadn't thought of resarting though. I will try that now. Thanks Wabe =:)
OK, I left it overnight and it is still only 1/4 done of part 1 of 2. I can't even tell if it is still downloading or not . This is ridiculous. I have a business to run so I guess I am supposed to put everything on hold until this is done. I think e-on should offer to send a disc by Fedex or UPS. After all what does a disc cost $2.
Wabe, did you diasble your Firewall to download? Apple has suggested this. Also how long should I expect to wait for this download? I don't like the way the e-on progress bar doesn't tell you what percentage has downloaded and what is left. Can as may of you as possible give me some advice before I try this again?
Yes, i disabled the firewall. And how long it takes is hard to tell, i simply started in the evening and let it run over night. But my gut feeling is something like 3-4 hours.
There are two parts that are downloaded and started and put together automatically.

Wabe, Thanks Wabe. I actually disconnected my firewall and then saw your message after I successfully downloaded Vue 6. As far as download time I can tell you how long it took for me. using an ADSL connection. I started it at 5:30 pm and it was done by 9:30 -10:30 pm. So 4-5 hours. I would recommend all mac users do the following before downloading Vue 6. 1. Turn off their firewall. (Preferences > Share > Firewall) Don't forget to turn on after downloading 2. Disconnect all other computers from a network. I learned this the hard way. 3. Plug your ethernet cable directly from your modem into your mac (do not use a router) just until your download is complete. This is to prevent any interference. In my case someone was using the internet on my second computer and this interfered with the download. 4. Finally, E-ON sent me a new downloader since the original one may have been corrupt. Do this as a last measure as it is usually one of the above problems first. Just trying to save others the headache I had.
Now I have more questions. After I downloaded Vue 6 it asked me if I wanted to install it right away. I opted out of installing right then as I wanted to back up the files first. Now if I look in my Vue 6 folder I see an "Install Vue 6" and an "Install Liscence Server" My gut tells me to click the "Install Vue 6". I looked for a ReadME for installation instructions, but didn't see one. If I click the "Install Vue 6" will it lead me through the necesary steps? __________________________________________________________________________________________ Finally, Wabe could you check something for me. In my Vue 6 Folder there are a lot of .exe files. When you downloaded the mac Version did it come with all of these too, or did E-On Send me the link to the PC version of Vue 6 instead of the Mac Version of Vue 6? Good grief I hope i don't have to download this all over again. Here's some of the files in my Vue 6 folder. AutoRun.exe CD Intro.exe Liscense Server Setup.exe Renderbull Setup.exe Setup.exe Thanks
It always comes with both versions - Mac AND PC.
What i did was to burn the whole thing - including the extracted Extra CD to one DVD and used that then for installations. You need a backup anyway so why not doing it the "classical way"?
Ok, you have the floating license i think. You then need to install Vue Pro, License Server and if you want to/need to The Cow.
Then you start the License Server (this must run on a computer that is always on when you work with Vue - normally your local network server. There you enter the serial number and activate the whole thing online.
I strongly recommend that you update the License Server immediately - right after you started it the first time (and activated your license). The update is out i read and it will save you some headache i think.
Same with Vue 6 - start it one time and then close it directly and update it. If the updater is the correct one. Some reported that something is wrong there. But hopefully the Mac side is the good one here.
And then enjoy your ride.
If you have some difficulties with the installations, let me know.

Sorry - i was not aware of the fact that the nodelocked version comes with the License Server installer as well. I checked now my nodelocked installation DVD and indeed - it is there as well.
You are absolutely right, nodelocked is the one for individuals. Much easier to handle.

Hi Guys,
This is a very interesting thread to me as I am thinking about downloading V6i as well. Well actually I’m more a 2d artist than a 3d, but I still own my old Vue 4 and enjoy it enormously to do some fun images with it, lately I browsed the Vue gallery here again and hell I was absolutely blown away what can be done with Vue6.
But before buying the program I would love to know some things, maybe you guys could help me there.
First my question to wabe, is there a chance to get a German version of V6I?
Next thing I would love to know – what is a floating version and what a nodelocked???
Another thing I would love to know is, I usually have all my 3d apps on a windows Pc and use to only paint on my Mac. Following your thread I saw you guys use a Mac for your Vue – does Vue run proper on a Mac never tried that, as said all my 3d apps are on Pc’s.
The last thing I would love to know, is there a possibility to get a upgrade version of V6I to my old Vue4 esprit, don’t found a possibility myself, maybe you know more?
All help would be really much appreciated, thanks in advance,
-Uwe
j-art Can't comment on the German Version. I will leave that for Wabe, bus as for your other questions. Yes Vue has come a Loooong! Way since Vue 4 Pro and as you have seen the images can be photorealistic. Floating version - For companies, studios who want the option of having their Vue liscence on multiple machines or on a network. Node Locked - For individuals or anyone who wil be primarily using Vue 6 on 1 computer or maybe a computer and a laptop, but tboth computers must be owned by the same person. Sorry this is in layman's terms. I'm sure Wabe or someone else can explain it better. I have used Vue Esprit, Vue 5 Infinite and noe Vue6 Infinite on a mac with no problems to speak of. In fact I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope this is of some help and hope to see you around the forum.
Thanks so much for your reply, really helped a lot.
I browsed as well the FAQs on the e-on site and well, most of my answers were answered there as well (should have done this maybe before I asked here in the forum, hehe. Anyway thanks so much for your quick reply, very kind of you to answer my dump questions.
Think I will purchase the Windows version as I’m just used to use 3d apps on windows PC’s, my good old mac will be still for 2d work, so I can still work on my 2d commissions while doing a render on the windows PC (some Vue renders use to take really long as far as I remember).
So first thing to do tomorrow is to buy and download V6I and hope I will not have trouble to download the file. But if it all went well I will have a great weekend playing around with the new toy.
Thanks again
-Uwe
Well, i guess it will be as it was with Vue 5 Infinite. After some time a german interface will apear. But no german manual. But who needs manuals!!!
Vue always comes with both versions - Mac AND PC. So whatever you buy, you still have the option.
And yes, i think it works fine on Mac. Of course depending on what Mac you have. On my new baby Mac Pro is purring like a cat. And incredible fast.

Hi Wabe, thank you too for the reply so much appreciated! Well I have a G5 2x2GH with 4 gigs RAM and the PC I currently use for 3d apps is a 2,8 GH with only 2 gigs RAM, so I assume it will run smoother on the Mac, but as having all other 3d apps on PC (Poser and so on) I think I will run it on Windows as well well see. Do you think once a German interface is released I can switch from the English on to the German one without having additional costs? On the other hand once I am use to the English interface I thinks there will be no need to change to a German one :-). Thanks you two so much for your great and friendly help! As soon as I come home from work I will download my V6I, cant wait to install it and play with it a little, sometimes you really need a break from painting and what could there be ,ore fun than to play around with a new fantastic Vue version :-) Haha, and as for a manual, I never used one, I always work try and error method, haha. Again thanks Wabe for the info, btw. Checked your profile and saw you are from Germany as well, Stuttgart, right? Haha Im from Ulm so we are very close to each other :-), funny :-) Ok thank you two -Uwe
Yeah, Ulm is not too far really. A spit away so to say. LOL. No problem to switch languages later - with V5 E-on provided language packages that you install when it is iavailable. I don't expect it will be different this time - if they decide to do that of course.
On Mac it is even simpler. There thge laguage switches automatically to the one that you use for the operating system. Annoying because i prefer the english version and it needs some tricks to get that back.

Me again :-),
Thanks so much to both of you for your wonderful help. Would have answered earlier but, haha, I had to play with my new toy. YES, I got my Vue6! Downloaded it on Friday, the download worked very well by me, just 3 to 4 hours with no problems.
After getting all those numbers, and online activation codes and stuff I finally got my new toy to run.
What a blast! I loved my Vue4 but hell this new Vue is just awesome, played the whole Saturday with it and did some awesome renders. Clouds, has anyone seen such clouds before! I’m really happy with the program. Well, I had some crashes though, but only when I overdid it with all the new features, especially this “wax texture” gave me some trouble, but all in all it worked very well.
However just wanted to say thanks to both of you for answering my questions.
I will upload some of my “test renders” I did yesterday in the early renders thread as I’m completely amazed what wonderful pictures I was able to do in NO time.
Oh, and Wabe, as for the English language version, think I don’t need to change language later as the program really is so easy to use that I think the English version will work for me as well, at least I had no problems to understand everything so far :-).
Oh and maybe we can meet someday in real life as well, I mean Stuttgart is really just a spit away, I always find it very interesting and much fun to meet people that I got to know online in real life too.
Thanks
Uwe
Hi Uwe,
sorry for being a little late on this. Of course it would be nice to meet one day, we definitely are not too far away from each other. Even of course when i am not sure about people with hard hats... :-))) Maybe on a castle ruin around here - would probably be the right environment for a meeting.
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
:-) – no sorry for being late, usual I’m the one who needs ages to reply to messages of forum posts :-). A meeting would be really great. I am from time to time in Stuttgart as my girlfriend does come from Stuttgart and her brother still lives there and we often visit him :-). So just let me know when you have some time left, maybe one day at the zoo, my daughter loves to visit the zoo, so if you want just drop me a mail :-).
Hey and again thanks for all the help, really much appreciated
Bests
-Uwe

Just downloading the mac version of Vue 6 using the Vue Infinite Download Installer and it seemed to be downloading Vue 6 OK when this message popped up. "Eror when creating Vue 6 Infinite Application Files (error code # 148). Please re-run this application to complete installation of Vue 6 Infinite." I have already contacted E-ON and am awaiting their response, but in the mean time I thought I'd ask if any of you have experienced this and have any Ideas on what I can do? Thanks
