they used to refer to the central console in Engineering (TNG) as 'the pool table'. It originally showed up in Starfleet Headquarters in one of the movies.  If you need some LCARS displays (homegrown), or just sites for them, lemme know, and I'll send 'em your way..;)

Speaking of Pool and Star Trek.. it could be cool with a DomJot table. And some Nausicaans ;o)

..note: Their main admin guy is away for a few days - Thanksgiving he said.

BTW - what is thanksgiving ? We don't celebrate that here in the UK.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

KDoug ( ) posted Tue, 21 November 2006 at 8:15 PM

Mr. Sparky, Thanksgiving is a U.S.-oriented holiday. It was originally started in the 1600s, to celebrate the harvest. It's gone in and out of fashion a number of times for various reasons. The current version of the holiday has been around since 1939. It was (and is) considered to be a celebration and a symbol of good fortune and family togetherness.

And don't be too hard on yourself, Reb! It looks like you're doing something right to me!  :)

collective buns out of the fire. Colonial thing. 17th Century.

Originally a specific date in November, but was changed to the last Thursday of November by FDR, who used it to extend the Christmas shopping season during the depression.

People drive for miles, eat too much, and put up with family members they avoid the rest of the year (sometimes..;) and watch football (what you don't call soccer..;) games, and pass out from the triptophan (sp?) in turkey that puts people to sleep.

any more useless information?...;) j/k..but the facts are real

You get all the fun holidays, Guy Fawkes (blow things up...nah..not really), Boxing day (who wears the gloves?..;) etc.
