I just went to open the program and the screne is upside down!!!!    just the screne, not the buttonms or anything.   The sky is where the ground should be abd the ground is where the sky should be!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't seen that one yet, but I have a bad feeling that the program is falling apart.  Last week it was running great, today I am thinking about going back to 5.  I feel like crying!

This is not encouraging. I've been too busy at work to instal Vue 6 yet, but it is on my computer.

could it be that you have clicked on the "look through light source" by accident? There you get this upside down sceneries. Or saved a messed up camera as default scene? Then of course it always "comes back".

To me it sounds like this a little bit. Can you give us some more information what you have done?

The way the problems all started happening about 2 days ago makes me think some file "expired".  I know some trial software uses features like that - you can save for X number of times the program is used, then it will no longer save.  Maybe something like that happened.  All I know is last week it was running fine, now it's not...

Peggy, can you maybe post some screenshots? How the scene looks like. Just to understand.

And, if possible the file called "Default Startup Scene.vue" you find that in the environment folder inside the Vue 6 Infinite application folder. Mine is 140 KB big so it should be possible to post that here even.

Never heard about any sort of "expiring" files - but ofg course even I do not know everythng. LOL.

I posted my scene to the Cornucopia Venice contest.  It's not very much - I think under 500,000 polygons.  My system recources are between 76% and 82% when it crashes, so it not an out of memory type problem.

I don't see a Default Startup Scene file - I use it the way it came - no changes to startup.

When I tried to beta test Extream and also for Vue 5 Infinite, the installations were all "temporary".  They will not work after a certain time period.  Since this is a pre-release, it may be possible that one or more files were set with a experation date.  Possible, but I am just guessing.

There MUST be a file called startup scene in your environment folder. If of course you have defined a startup scene (when i think about it again).

AND - you definitely should install the pre-release clean and freshly. Not over any sorts of old installations. This indeed could cause a problem.

I have a DefaultAtmosphere.atm and Default.cfg (4KB), and a bunch of default material settings, but no startup scene.  I think that is something you can do on the Options, General Preferences screen.

I did a complete un-install and removed all of the folders left behind in the Progam  Files directory.  I did not clean out the registry - don't want to touch that unless e-on says to.  When I re-installed, it still had my serial number and activation stuff remembered, so there may still be a few hidden files that did not get refreshed.

Will go back to play and learn mode - wait for the next patch and keep my fingers crossed.

Hmmm, I too have ahd some odd things happen when starting up v6inf, i saved a scene and the reopenedd it and lo and behold, the camera was elsewhere...ie not where i had put it where i saved it, it was below ground level miles away form the group of figures it was last seen pointing at, I wonder if there is some sort of glitch with saveing the camera settings, I too nearly screamed, as id spen hours getting the camera placement and setting s right, and had to do it all over again!!

This (camera movement) can happen when you select something in a scene - and move it without recognising that you have selected something else too. Sun or camera often. Other reasons i can't imagine. Only maybe that you loaded the scene via "merge" instead of "load" so that you had the camera of the default scene again.
