Ok, smoothed out the dolphins (don't recall where I got them but it was a file named dolphins.max). Anyway, I added 10 meshes for every single mesh in the model and rounded it out a bit with Metasequoia. The diamond was made in metasequoia with an extruded sphere. Hope this fixes some of the problems. I'm still trying to figure out how to engrave the inside of a torus (compound curve). Someone suggested height map I think. Need a tut on that. Still working on the box to hold the ring, not as easy as I thought.

With the dolphins smooth out, the diamond is incredible Eric. Nice works, i find it much better over your first try. Always a good job. For the engraving, you could try a negative cylinder with a graving on it and then combine with the ring (positive) to try and make the engraving. (Just a test)!

Ok, I'm done. Got the engraving. It says "Soulmates" if you can't read it. Did the engraving with lattice editor and the gausian edges, that seemed to fit the torus. Thanks to Mazilla for providing a velvet jpg for the background. Thanks for the suggestion to make it purple. Oh, I did do nice box, but it seemed to detract from the image so I dumped it. Now to get a real job so I can buy one of those things!

Eric, Very nice work. Your ring is incredeble. I like the engraving. We can see cleary the diamond and i loved the colors so we can see the ring perfectly. How Much?? :)
