2 Part question: Where are my Presets?/ And How do I get my user files from 5 to 6?

Okay Part one : I downloaded BR6 in early Nov and I haven't used it much, but today I decided to start the converstion, but 1st I wanted to see if DAZ had added the new presets and there was nothing there.

Part two: I tried to import my br5 obp. files to br6  but their was no Obp. ext and I kept getting an Error when I tried to import. So next tried to open all of my User presets in br5 save the file in br6 . I opened the br5 file  in br6 that worked get but when I selected the object file  and  when in to: Create/ add or import it gave me the error " An unexpected error has occured: file not found ...and it was sitting right  their !!!!
It even had the preset name listed. Please tell me what am I doing wrong...

Thanks,

Astromerc

As for part one: using Windows Explorer, browse to your Bryce 6 Presets folder and see if there's and extra presets folder there.  If there is, copy and paste the contents into the main presets folder.  Then go ahead and delete the second one.  This was a bug with the original installer that has been corrected.

As for part 2; I've had no problems opening my obp files from Bryce 4, 5, and 5.5 in B6 and importing them.  I have no clue as to why you're getting this problem.  Maybe AS will have an answer?

If the Obp files are already in Bryce libraries then just copy those libraries into the preset folders (but obviously under a different name so you don't over write anything)
Once you have gone in and made sure the preset libraries are set up correctly by making sure there is no additional folder in the area you shouldn't have any problems. the object presets should be in presets/objects and not presets/objects/objects.  Until they are set up correctly Bryce will refuse to let you add anything through the create area

Thanks for help.....

Which Bryce files ? Br5 or Br6 because their is nothing in Br6 , but I did try to move the presets from br5 to br6  and only one set showed in br6 . could you show me directly with Screen shots how to set this up?

If you have no presets in Bryce 6 then there are two possibilities - the first is that you haven't downloaded all the files that you should have and then installed them all. there should be nine all together (I think) . they will install everything into the correct place.
the second is that you had one of the installers that was faulty (preset 1 I think) which has given you an extra layer of files that Bryce cannot use.
All your presets should be in their own folders within Bryce 6
The folders should show as
Bryce 6/presets/brushes
Bryce 6/presets/leaves
Bryce 6/presets/materials
Bryce 6/presets/objects
Bryce 6/presets/skies
Bryce 6/presets/textures
Bryce 6/presets/trees
Bryce 6/presets/treeshapes
Inside each of these folders there should at least be a folder called installed and possibly a folder called user. (There may well be additional folders if you have bought any additional objects or materials etc)
If they aren't there then you have not installed everything.
If any of these folders have an folder in them with the same name ie if you have
Bryce 6/presets/objects/objects then that is one folder too many. Take anything in the bottom folder out and place it into Bryce 6/presets/objects.
Any of the folders that you have in the presets in Bryce 5 or 5.5 can be copied into these folders but rename them first as you do not want to overwrite the installed or user folder.
