No problem jade. What I meant was; everyone should try to use original materials, or objects; not stuff someone else has made. Thats how we learn; by doing it ourselves, and not by using other people's work. So if you use your 2d-materials; fine, as long as you make them yourself ;-). Also objects; I make some objects in Amapi, and import them in Bryce; thats fine too, etc.
Well had an idea but then read all the way ... Can't do this one. Well I could but I wouldn't like it ... A scene is just that until it has some human element in it. At least to me. One reason I don't like landscapes .. I mean I like them but I don't like to do them ... they always seem to be lacking the human element to me. Not trying to make you change the challenge or anything. Could do the scene for population later but I don't like rendering over and stuff. Have fun
Think Dn'i Ghost, or whatever the hell they called that city is Myst, they had a really large unxderground lake, you could do a city, with the lake and all. Thats what I think at least Tempest (Im gonna take a stab at this one me thinks, sounds like fun, though I haven't the slightest as to how to go about it... well Ill worry about that later)
Ghost, I think you could still do this one. Jules Vern comes to mind, or spelunking, or even a underground caves like in Utah or Brice Canyon where visitors wonder around on tours of the caverns. There are quite a few ways you could implement the human touch and still capture the essence of underground. Heck, even do the city (forget the name.. bad me.) from the Matrix, the last human city. All good ideas.. drats.. now I have to come up with a new one for myself since Ive made these ones public. LOL
The doctor says I have way too much blood in my caffeine system.
I could do them ... they just don't really interest me that much. Like I said, they are scenes without something. Like a movie set with no actors. Might be pretty and all but just doesn't spark anything in me when I do them. If I can get some space on the drives I might do one to be populated later. Just hate doing a full render twice and eating up puter time.

For those who haven't seen before, I wrote a tutorial on making caves in Bryce using lattices you create. May be a starting point for someone. RichAttached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=8690&Start=55&Sectionid=2&Form.Search=Dreamspinner
Okay and how many times may we enter? Verdie Ingram of DreamspinnerAttached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=8572&Start=73&Sectionid=2&Form.Search=Dreamspinner
I was one of the first people to ever do a cave pic in Bryce and I still think that they are pretty good. Are we supposed to post these in a special place? Verdie Ingram of DreamspinnerAttached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=40084&Start=1&Artist=Allen9&ByArtist=Yes
Is this the right place to post this? I clicked on the "monthly challenge" link on the sidebar but it only leads to something from last DECEMBER. The Challenge Arena gallery seems only to have posts from last month's challenge. Sure would be nice if things were a little clearer about this.Attached Link: http://www.darseydesign.com
I just came across the challenge area, being new here, and I realize that the challenge is closed, but I wanted to post anyway...so here it isThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Right, it is my turn to pick the next challenge. This time something 'easy'. What about a underground-scene; a cave with a lake, or maybe an underground river. Could be realistisc or a fantasy-setting. Ask yourself these questions; how does it look like, does anything live down there? Is it spooky or pleasant? What about light; acces to daylight, or torches, flashlights, etc? Anything goes... BUT I would like to see only original objects/materials (no matter how you made them, as long as they are your own design & work). I think the pic should tell a story, and captivate the audience. I would also suggest this; lets make the last entry date april 30; that way we can have the voting in the first week of may, after which we can have another 3 weeks for the next competition. Have fun, enjoy... and be creative! May the force... etc. ;-)
