Subject: Could use your advice with this problem

I use both Poser 5 And 6. Usually I prefer to render with 5 because it seems to run faster, but I'm having trouble importing native content figures from 6 into 5 that have been saved in PZ3 format. Soon as the load begins I'm innundated with file location requests, including some .obj format files that don't seem to be there. Are there any utilities that will audit content between the two programs and end this problem, or am I out of luck?

Add your Poser 6 Runtime to Poser 5 (in the LIbrary bar).  Unless you've installed the content into Poser 5 as well as Poser 6, Poser 5 don't know squat about it (file references in the PZ3 and other Poser files are normally relative, not absolute).  Also, be wary of Poser 6 figures.  They work in strange and mysterious ways (i.e.: PMD and updated Face Room support).  These features are NOT available in Poser 5!  If you want to avoid the PMD issue in Poser 6, you'll need to go to General Preferences->Misc. and disable "External binary morph targets", then resave your PZ3.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

Not that I've seen, because there is very little reason or desire to work in P6, and then port back to P5.

Why no tbenchmark yoursystem with a render, and get an actual render time comparison. Make sure your render settings are also the same as well between them.

Odds are, you'll find P6 sr3 renders faster then P5.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
