Subject: Can you add extra HDRI options to Carrara?

Toomuchtime ( ) posted Fri, 24 November 2006 at 7:55 PM · edited Mon, 06 January 2025 at 5:57 PM

Is it possible to add more HDRI options to Carrara 5  like you can in Bryce, or are we stuck with just the 2 provided choices?

Thanks for any help.

I may be able to help if I understood the question.... are you asking if you can use different hdri maps?

Yes, forgive the misunderstanding.. That's exactly what I meant.
Is it possible?
Many thanks.

yes, you can use most HDRI images... a good place to down load some sky/sunset ones is evermotion.  Just remember where you saved them from, and in the assemble room click on Scene, then above where you clicked on scene you'll see different options, click on the arrows pointing down beside background and select HDRI, then browse for the HDRI you want to use, select it and you're on your way.

Hope this helps.

Hi Toomuchtime, Make sure to use the maps called Spherical or Panoramic. The Lat/Longitude or Box maps won't work correctly. Mark
