Subject: How easily influenced are you?

I have discovered that I am either insane, bipolar or very easily influenced and was wondering if others felt like this too...

I just need to listen to a song and I can change from writing light and carefree poems, to depressing, hate filled lines.

Please let me know if I need to seek help from a psychiatrist..... lol

I am very easily influenced. If I go to a Shakespeare play, I end up writing in a bad imitation of Iambic pentameter.  If I talk to someone with an accent, I end up with the accent.  I think it's just part of the creative process....writers have to be able to wear different characters just as actors do and I think that ability to mimic someone else is just part of absorbing all we can into our systems so we can write from different points of view, and different emotinal states. We would be really boring if we could only write as ourselves and in one tone, don't you think?

I think you're insanely creative, but I wouldn't look for a cure.

I am easily influence by images.  Most people....if they are writing and want to illustrate their story, try to create an image or find one to fit their story.  I am the opposite.  I see an image and want to write a story to fit around the image.  But then again....I am left handed also and use the other side of the brain.   LOLOLOL

There could be an easier explanation.  That dreaded change of life thing could be sitting on your shoulders.  "Oh! What it can do to your emotions!!!"

I can not conceantrate on my writing if there is a distraction in the background. But, then Some pictures or songs will all of a sudden combine with my thoughts and inspire me. That could be concidered the same thing as influenced, I guess. Oh Well, I know I am not crazy.  I just write what the voices, I mean to say my muse tells me to write.LOL
