THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Research Problem...if you have a minute to spare.....;-)

OK, this is aimed at you guys who are a bit long in the tooth and into 'prog-rock'.
I'm looking for referance pics of the MOORGLADE MOVER, the ship from Jon Anderson's 'Olias of Sunhillow'.  If you don' t know what I'm talking about leave now and save your sanity.

I have the orginal LP(vinyl) but I'm sure that I heard there were other views available somewhere, but I'm buggered if I can find them. Any hints or suggestions are appreciated. ;-)

Awesome creation, going to be tough finding anything really detailed, other than what is on the Album. Not sure if there have been any renditions done in it's likeness.

Good Luck Chris

Had the album...emphasis on had. I'll check the net.

Bryster,
I am considered 'long in the tooth' and have a couple of Jon Anderson's albums so I remenber him from the timeframe in question. Even so, I am unable to help you with that particular album. On an OT, if you haven't heard it yet, you might enjoy listening to an album he collaborated on with Vangelis called 'The Best of Jon and Vangelis'.
It is an excellent album showing the range of Jon's vocal talent. I continue to listen to it often still today.

Hmmm who is the artist you might try looking under his name. Is it a Roger Dean cover? He did most of the Yes cover art and does a lot of the solo efforts by bandmembers. (all the Steve How Covers are by him)

Olias was drawn by someone else. I think his name  is David Roe. There was a book inside the original LP with two or three other views of the Moorglade besides the one used on the cover. I'd love to find the book but I lost it about 20 years ago.

hmmm..aside from the Mr. Cairo song, I only know him from Yes. I've found some things by searching on the name, etc. Or fan sites, which will have discographies, etc.  Only problem is a lot of the time, the fippin' piccys are too small..:|

Ahhh.......May 1975.  Yes, live at QPR football ground...the first concert I ever did go to.....a 3-hour set.   I remember a friend of mine getting a cardboard cut-out retail mobile based on the "Olias" album art from Virgin records in Newcastle.  I've only got the CD version now.

The page that the link above refers to seems to suggest that David Roe, the artist responsible, is contactable via email.  Write to him!

I just got an email from the great Patrick Woodroffe after I wrote to him!

Dann-O: Thanks for the pics! These are the ones I have but you've saved me having to scan them myself.

Paul Francis: Excellent idea. Let's hope he digitised his stuff ;-)

I really liked Jon Anderson when he was with YES back in the 70s, although I do have MAGNIFICATION. I'm not that keen on the Vangelis stuff.
Thanks again, guys!
